Internal threads are soft
The brand was exactly like I wanted it to come out. I used it to brand wood coasters. After a while, the handle wouldn't stay tight, and eventually the threads gave out. I had to use a bolt where the handle was, and pliers to finish the job. I got all my stuff done, but the metal was too soft from all the heat to hold up. I would buy again if I wasn't planning to do over 100 brands in a short while.

BAD BRANDING IRON
JUNK!!! Buyer beware! This thing didn't last two months. Cheap made. The threads were stripped out in the first few uses and finally gave up. The shaft is too small diameter. For what I paid it should be a better-quality product!

Works great!
This brand is totally worth the money for a small time crafter such as myself. The image is clear and doesn't look like a burnt blob. That being said, I've seen unfair reviews where the brand was clearly applied too long. I've been trying to find a sweet spot and so far a 175°F brand held 4 seconds on leather seems to be working. There is a bit of a wait on this product but it's worth it!

Great brand
This was made and in the mail in less than 24 hours! FAST Shipped and in the mailbox 5 days after I placed the order. Quality brand with nice, sharp letters. The photo I attached was my 1st test piece. Found that best procedure was to have a piece of scrap that is the same species wood you plan on branding. Don't put any finish on the wood before you brand it. Heat the branding head until you think it's hot enough (count to 15 with head in a propane or Mapp gas torch flame). Then test it on your scrap wood. If it is too hot, the brand will look like my photo. Note that if you have some light charring around your brand like the attached photo, lightly sand the brand with 120 grit sandpaper and it will clean right up. Do another test brand without reheating the head and keep on branding your scrap until you have a crisp brand with little to no charring around your letters - then do your brand (do not reheat). You can get 2 to 4 good brands without reheating the head - that's following your test brands charring up the scrap. PRACTICE ON SCRAP until you get it right. Then and only then brand your finished product. I strongly endorse this product.

Great results!
Imprints great. The shaft and tint nuts are pretty flimsy. I bent the rod handle after a few uses and had to put it in the vise to get it straight again.
