Setting the stage?
Book 2 was neither remarkable nor a trash can. The art remains well above average, dark and crisp in the right areas, and with fewer fan-service scenes. In this book we get more exploration of how Goblin Slayer acts and is viewed in this world, the party is grown in size, and possible end game shenanigans are hinted at. It is interesting seeing the expansion of this universe, but the ideas of magic and lore seem to be very surface level or at least common archetypes. There was a lot of very on the nose chit-chat among the party almost like a DnD campaign, which lightens the mood but takes you out of some of the harsh reality from the first book.

Adventure is different than adventurers.
Some people to beyond volunteering. They tailor their social interaction to fit a goal and the way of their life doing so runs deep. Everyday evil is the most common of evils. They may take up the signatory of adventurer but their task is everyday evil which is the most damaging and of which greater evils are dependent. This manga reminds me of this.

Must have for fans
Amazing art style! I love how it follows the light novel pretty faithfully. I really enjoy this manga of this series, it is just so well done!

Goblin slaying aplenty !
Excellent artwork, a hard hitting story that doesn't pull any punches and just enough situational humour to stop it sliding into doom and gloom. It takes a bit of getting used to in the fact that the characters aren't named - instead they are called by their role, but in a way that adds to the flavour. Do you risk learning names of people who may die at any moment ?the artwork is crisp and detailed without being crowded, though be warned the very nature of the goblins and the storyline means there can be visceral and unpleasant scenes.Volume 3 now out so I'm off to get that one too !

Still good
The series continues to be an enjoyable read. The new characters bring a fun dynamic while adding new abilities to Goblin Slayer's high tier strategies. Watching his plans unfold are always interesting, would recommend, especially if you've watched the anime and want more Goblin Slayer content.
