Loved this book! I used it to plan all of our trips to places I would not have thought of going to! We went to the coffee farms, Captain Cook bay for snorkeling, Green Sand Beach, Black Sand Beach, Volcano National Park, to see the manta rays, and more.... This book helped me make sure our week there was everything we wanted it to be!! Thanks!!

Great book for planning our trip. We took it with us and used it during vacation. Would recommend

This book was last published in 2016. In 2018, there were some major eruptions on the big island, which changed several things:- Thurston Lava tube closed- Jagger museum closed- Most of Crater Rim drive close- Various area in Puna now covered in lava (so things to see/directions no longer apply)- Main church in Kona under closed while being renovated (unrelated to eruption)- Several other things in the book were also closedOverall, this is a good book, nice maps, well organized, lots of activities. And any tour book will get out of date. But if you are planning a trip to the big island, and using this book as a source, you should probably double check many of your activities. But isn't that a bit of the point of a tour book - to tell you want to see, and if you are needing to use other sources, diminishes the value of the book a bit?

I'm planning a vacation on the big island and this book has numerous tips and suggestions that will come in handy.

Just buy it! We didn't always have wifi in our travels so this book was a lifesaver.

Excellent book full of local Knowledge with a website that updates information in between editions.

A little tricky to put together (but I am not very mechanically inclined). I did figure it out though. I bought this because my previous holder mounted on the heating vent of the car, and my phone would overheat when the heat was on in the car, which is pretty much all the time now, since it is winter. and freezing here. The only downside is that it blocks the view of my back up camera. I have a 2017 Toyota Rav 4. So I will use it primarily when I want to navigate directions from my phone, and take it off for everyday driving.
