No, it's about half the weight. Heavy enough to stir my thick dough but light enough to manage. I find it to be a very simple machine to use. Very straight forward controls and locking mechanisms on the bowl, and attachments.

Is there a pasta maker attachment that can be used on this mixer?

No, there are several beaters and dough hooks available. You can't do attachments because there is no power take off on the front like that other brand. But you can make pasta dough, roll is out by hand, fold it over into thirds and cut your own with a knife. Homemade (ie non-dried pasta) is overrated - cooks to quickly and has no "chew" to it.
