I have been using this type of pin brush on my long hair cat for all the time that i've had her; she loves the feel of the pins smoothing and removing extra fur and massaging down to her skin.However, most of these brushes come with a bristle brush on the 2nd side; no use at all for a cat.But the pet hair remover on the 2nd side of this brush is absolutely magical! it removes her fur from my clothes and from places she sleeps (e.g., fleece blankets on my bed). it works fantastically in any direction and it's easy to remove the accumulated fur from the hair remover side!One of my best purchases ever ... i now have 3 of them in different places around the house and i'm buying 2 more for gifts to friends with long hair cats.

this brush is good for its purpose. I use it on my border collie. This doesn't prick them like the tiny wire brushes do. She loves to be brushed & this thins her hair out well. I'm not sure about the rubber side....I don't see much use for it.But it may help collect hair off your clothes, so worth the price & style.However, this is not the type I use on my tight haired poodles. It doesn't fluff as much. I use a bit of the tiny wire type (but not where it hurts them) and a regular old style hair brush which works well on them. - which does well.

This is the most awesome dog brush. It is gentle, effective, and comfortable to hold. It works like a charm on our Golden Retrievers. The best feature is the clothes hair remover built right in to remove any pet hair on yourself after grooming your favorite pup! The worst feature is that the brush is NOT constructed as 1 solid piece and it broke in 2 pieces in no time. The handle broke at the neck rendering it useless. For $12.00-ish, this should have been better constructed to last much longer! Our $5.00 brushes lasted just as long or longer. So close, but yet so .....

This brush is holding up well, haven't lost a single pin/bristle. It's comfortable to hold and works well to remove loose hair

UPDATE: purchased in August 2018. The Newfie is now 150lbs. The brush has lost at least half of its pins. Just broken down have purchased a new one of a different brand🥴Works great on my Newfoundland puppy. Grabs tons of hair with each stroke. Though she is still learning to tolerate the whole grooming process and does not fully love being brushed yet, it does’t seem to hurt her. Will buy again when this brush needs to be replaced, though it seems pretty tough and well constructed. Her periodic chewing and biting at it durning brusing has yet to cause any real damage to it.

From all the dog brushes I have bought, this one is by far the most durable one, so I bought a second one to have it in the upstairs level. I will definitely recommended it.

I bought this because it was on sale. I have two Japanese Spitzes with with fluffy double coats. This brush worked well to remove their undercoat after bathing. Though it is not quite as effective as some other brushes, it is gentle and my dogs enjoy being brushed with it. When I used rake-style or deshedding brushes, one of my dogs becomes very aggressive and tries to bite even when I try to be gentle. She doesn't do that when I use this brush. It may take more brushing sessions to remove their loose undercoat but if my dogs enjoy it, that is fine for me.
