Flymo EasiCut 610XT Electric Hedge Trimmer, 500 W, Cutting Blade 60 cm

Much better than my previous hedge trimmer, trimmed my wall climbing tree very quickly and shaped all my bushes and shrubs, garden looks so tidy and well cared for. Love the power it has, and the safety hook to prevent the cable being caught by the cutting blades. Found it easy to use and it cuts any way you want to go. It's just what we needed, and had the best results ever.

Quite like Flymo tools and this one had a connection to Germany as it was an e-store item, so saw that as a further sign of quality. Arrived on time and although the box was split in two, no damage to the trimmer. Very easy and short instructions. Perhaps a little heavier than would have anticipated (4kg appx on packaging but felt heavier, possibly due to it's shape than anything else), so was very careful using the appliance and made sure when standing on ladder to trim hedge the ladder was firmly on the ground. Excellent, clean cutting blade and glad bought the 520 not the 460 as surprising how much blade you want to have once you start cutting. Not particularly noisy and once got the hang of the cutting "sweeping" movements to make the cuts and shaping, very simple to use. Stores upright in its box so doesn't take up a lot of room. Recommended.

Bought to replace my earlier Flymo, which packed up. This new one is nice enough, but not quite as good. The blades are not as sharp and tend to chew slightly thicker stems, that my previous Flymo cut through. The price is very good; I think about the same as my previous one, which lasted about 7 years. I hoped I was buying like for like, and this will do, but I was just a little disappointed; it's a lighter machine and as I'm getting older that's no bad thing.

Our house is surrounded by hedges and I have todo a lot of hedge work. I get through hedge trimmers pretty quickly. I stepped up a price point when I chose this product but I am very happy I made that decision. This is a sharp powerful cutter that moves swiftly along the hedge. Classic example of a situation where you get what you pay for. Really nice product.

The media could not be loaded. This is a tough hedge trimmer. It's light, it's easy to manoeuvre and it cuts through thick twigs. I had no trouble trimming thick dense bushes, it easily cut through the thicker twigs. Fantastic machine!

Early days yet to comment on performance. The main use will be for cutting hedges on a small scale, plus shrubs. Will also be used for cutting back plants in the herbaisus borders.

The extra hand-gripping options on the 610XT are just what I was seeking as it provides that extra bit of reach available. I was getting too old to reach out so far with old fashioned shears when trimming the varied bushes that make up my front hedge and it all got a bit out of hand in the end. Along comes the 610XT and the problem has been solved - and relatively promptly I may add. It works a treat and I had the hedge back as I like it before my cup of tea had gone cold. I don't do any of that lark with squared-off hedges that display 90 degree angles, as nature - to me - didn't want stuff that way. So, I just trim the shrubs up so that they look natural but neat. I can thoroughly recommend this trimmer and didn't want a cordless device because recharging batteries that have run down can be such a faff when all you want to do is get on with the job.Eamonn
