Understand the difference bettween the heavy and medium duty models
So, this works, but you need to be aware of the difference between the 'M' model and 'H' model. The last two letters of the model are either 'M' for medium duty, or 'H' for 'heavy duty'. The last letter is either 'L' or 'R', for either mounting to the left side or right side of the cabinet. I figured since I was just installing on a kitchen cabinet, I just needed a M. I was wrong.From the Sugatsune website:Torque Calculation: Door Height x 1/2 x Door WeightM type: 55 ~ 75kg·cm (48 ~ 65lbs·in) per pieceH type: 75 ~ 100kg·cm (65 ~ 87lbs·in) per piece3/4 inch MDF is 3.2 lbs/sq in. That means that if you have a reasonable sized cabinet door (probably anything over 12" in height), you probably need the Heavy duty. I did the calculation with a 16" door that weighs 10 lbs, and it came in at 80 lbs-in, putting me squarely in the need for the Heavy duty option.
