Very simple to use and makes for a sweet gift the wife loved, don't let the bad reviews fool you
First of all, I always check the 1 star or bad reviews before buying something, but this is in the $25-30 range and not expensive for a nice little gift. Buying a simple gift picture frame is the same price so I don't get the "value" complaint from people. I figured it was a risk for a nice gift from the "baby" to my wife and it came out great.Second, I don't have any artistic ability at all or experience with something like this and this came out great with a tiny little crack near one letter by one corner after drying. Remember, you're buying a kit you do at home, not a professional impression / casting kit that runs you a couple of hundred dollars. I don't expect my photos to come out like a magazine if I buy a disposable camera and budget lamp, then review the camera and lamp bashing it for not looking like a professional photo shoot. That's what you're getting here, a nice simple gift on a budget that's a 15 minute DIY project.Third, the clay and photos not fitting in the paper cutout frame once you place it in the frame. This is simple, you put the paper cutout frame over the clay to know your borders, it's not that hard to see how to cutout your photos and make sure your impressions are within the frame. Look at step 6 to see what paper cutout I'm talking about and you'll be fine. Place it over the clay to know your borders.Fourth, the letters. I used a regular pair of scissors, years old, and it cut them fine. I didn't use the blue part to hold them together just pressed a letter at a time. Looks a little uneven but it looks cute since this is a gift "from" the baby to mom. I only skipped this because of time, see below.Overall, you have to be realistic with your expectations. If you want this to look like a professional company imprinting, casting, or 3D printing hands and feet, then you will have to spend the money for a professional to do it and looking it up it's a couple hundred dollars. If you want a very cute gift that looks great, and put a little logic into it, the end result is worth it for the price. My wife absolutely loves this. I was able to do this hiding it from wife in the other room, and with baby awake, and it took about 15-20 minutes.

Love it
So cute. I love this frame. It's really good quality. It was very easy to work with & easy to press feet for imprint.

Very cute gift, but a little tricky!
The presentation of this is very cute and the instructions were well laid out. The letters were difficult to get into the plastic holder for the letters (if you add a name or date). I didn't realize it before drying, but you do need to make sure that the prints are within the boundaries of the matte. The clay is a little tricky to flatten out. I used this with my 2 month old and I laid the frame on a flat surface for the foot print. I tried to catch him while sleeping for the hand print. You want to make sure you push the prints in far enough to have good definition when it dries. The sizing for the pictures is a little difficult, but I used the matte to cut out photos for it. Overall, I was happy with it. I made one for myself and one for my Mom for Mother's Day. My plexi glass also had a small scratch so that was a little bothersome.

Great gift, fun activity, prepare letters beforehand
Gave this to my husband for Father’s Day and he loved it! We completed it together while little one was asleep so the hand and foot prints would be easier to accomplish and it came out really well. It is challenging to get the clay to be flat and not cracked in the space provided and with only a small wooden dowel but we did a passable job. It is also a huge pain to get the letters situated in the guide as you have to cut each side down to fit without gaps. That was a very involved process and if you are planning to make imprints of a sleeping baby, I’d recommend you cut out all of the letters and numbers before you begin with the clay. Once you’re through the tedious part of arranging the letters and numbers in the guide, the rest is pretty straightforward and the directions given are very helpful. Loved that there were spaces for pictures and the sizing of the clay space was enough to fit one handprint and one footprint (our baby was about two months old when we made this) along with measurements, name, and DOB. Make sure you plan out the spacing before imprinting in the clay and keep in mind the framing mat covers over a portion of the clay space. Also, for all of the details of the letters and numbers to come through, make sure your press down all the way with the guide, otherwise you may have faint imprints or missing the center cutouts and only have outlines of the letters and numbers.VERY cute gift and fun activity to do too!

Definitely a keepsake at this point.
I ordered this back in January thinking I was going to gift it to my husband for Valentine’s Day lol! Well here we are in June sooooo Fathers Day gift it is! To give the product time to dry I decided 12:30am is the perfect time to oil up my babies hands and feet and massage really stinky clay in my bathroom by nightlight.I unfortunately only got one packet of clay.. I didn’t even know there was supposed to be three until I came here to leave a review.. oh well! I was going to say I wish there was some more clay to make spreading the clay in the frame easier but apparently I struggled because I just didn’t have enough.. my end product probably won’t be flat since I was just doing my best to level it out but at this point I don’t care. The instructions were clear, the frame and components seem like decent quality, blah blah blah.. I’m just really happy with this keepsake because it looks messy and I got part of my finger in it .. and after having a hard time with PPD I had to stifle my laugh while I smashed my sleeping babies hands and feet into the clay.. I had so much fun using this product and I don’t even care what it turns out looking like. It’s an amazing keepsake for me and I know my husband is going to love it!!
