Great movie and steelbook.
Alien: Romulus has revived the Alien franchise. It has it all. Face huggers, evil AI, chest bursts, acid for blood, xenomorphs, and the bad ass heroine! Great story from beginning to end it even has a touch of Ripley in it.The steelbook is awesome! The extras are great and give you more Alien lore and lets you know the Alien franchise has a brand new future ahead.

Space Movie Horror!
Horror movie formula without giving any of the story away. I think it moves too quickly at times with no suspense build but overall it’s a good movie I think. Did well at the box office too.

A Tribute to the All-time Classic of Si-Fi Horror
I watched the movie in theater for two times when it was released a few months ago. I could not help to tap my smartphone to purchase it as soon as I learned it was available in Amazon. I am so delighted when I finally receive it. I would like to repeat such a fantastic expense received from the theater at home.I have waiting for over years since Alien: Covenant in 2017. Like all the other fans, I wonder how the new story will turn out, especially how the new story is to connect to the other prequels. The director takes us all by surprise that he simply starts a new story that connects to the first Alien movie back in 1979. Obviously, the director wants a think-out-of-the-box strategy in the new Alien movie to give a astonishing experience to audience. That simply sets him free from all the burdens for facilitating seamless connections to the two prequels. The comments over the two prequels are very extreme, some say they are brilliant but some disagree. In the new movie, it is a fusion of the great ingredients of all the previous Alien movies that makes it one of the great work in the hall of fame in the Alien series. In this movie, there are many scenes and quotes inspired by the other previous movies. They are connecting to each other seamlessly, plus other new elements in the movie, a thrilling experience is created for the audience. It is the movie you should not miss. I hope you will enjoy it as I do.

Fun but Completely Unoriginal
Remember the first 2 Alien movies? You know: the only 2 in pretty much the entire franchise that can realistically be called "good?" Remember how they had great characters, memorable action and some of the most quotable dialog in cinema? Alien Romulus remembers. For the good, of the six main characters, four of them actually act like they want to survive and, save for a particularly boneheaded decision by one in an elevator, make decisions that believably correlate with the whole "not trying to die in a horror movie" shtick. Said characters also have pretty redeemable motivations (Escape corporate oppression) and maintain just enough interest in their plight to make them likable. Throw in a downright nostalgic Alien retro setting, a few effective scares and the best way to deal with an army of xenomorphs ever and this should have been the movie that proved decisively that this franchise had more than fumes left in the tank. What went wrong?Unfortunately, this movie not only wears its nostalgia proudly on its sleeve but uses it as a crutch for the majority of the runtime. Remember those cool quotes? There here and are lamely spewed so you can point at the screen and say "They said the thing!" Remember how final those first 2 great movies were? This one feels like none of it mattered because sequels got to happen. A good-to-great movie is in here but it seems so intent in pulling a Super 8 gimmick (the movie spent most of its runtime trying to tell me how good ET was rather than make itself good) that it forgets that it should be competing with that quality instead of mimicking it.Final verdict: While the movie drags itself down with awkward callbacks to superior movies and revisiting stupid concepts from much worse movies in the franchise (you'll know when you see it), it rides high on a fun cast with their hearts fully in it and a few memorable set pieces. Should the rental price ever fall below $5, this would feel like a must watch for the franchise as a whole. Just be prepared at just how unthorough the heroes from the best movies were the first time around (how the Xenomorph got there is beyond stupid). At least it isn't Prometheus.

I Loved It!
I love this movie. It complements the Alien franchise very well. I actually bought it instead of renting it or waiting for it to come out on a free service, which I rarely do, and I watched it three times in the first week. The effects are amazing, the human/android social dynamics are interesting, and the new alien hybrid is super creepy!
