Why didn't I find this book sooner
Excellent book, well written. Great advice that actually works. All the problems about age related weight gain solved in the time it takes to read the book. All the ridiculous white noise surrounding nutrition and weight loss dispelled in one fell swoop. Thank goodness this book exists, light bulb moment after light bulb moment just in the first few chapters. A common sense approach with tools and tips to get past the difficult aspects of weight loss. Made me realise that I can take back control again

Good advice
Sensible suggestions that help you lose weight and keep it off. There are a lot of similarities between this and a tv advertised healthy eating plan that it based on psychology.

Clear, practical guidance that really works!
After reading the paperback version of this book I got it as a Kindle version so that I would have it with me when I am travelling - and I've found it an excellent way of keeping on track during business trips and when on holiday. It's a clearly written and practical guide to why, how, where and when to eat - straightforward guidance on steps to take to change habits. I really like the style in which it's written with short chapters that have plenty of examples and are properly referenced to the scientific data and studies that support this approach. Each chapter has a short summary which is very helpful for referring back to after you've read the whole book. The book is also fairly short which means that I read it quite quickly and was able to get a good overview of all the guidance before going back to the chapters which I felt were most important to me. A book focused on the needs of women over 40 was the real appeal initially but the advice could be used by anyone interested in a non-diet approach to losing weight. My biggest recommendation is that the guidance in this book really is working for me!

Intuitive eating cloaked in fat-phobia
Basically the intuitive eating approach but fixated on weight loss (which IE isn't) with a lot of 'being fat is bad' stuff that made me cringe. If you haven't worked through IE steps you might find it less offensive. Couldn't get past Chapter 4.

Excellent
This is a straightforward pragmatic and imminently doable new way of eating that will help you lose weight - it is not a diet, but the book will help you relate to food in a new way. To stay slim - you need to adapt this approach for the rest of your life. The mistake many dieters make is that when they have completed a programme they say “ah great, now that I am slim, I can go back to stuffing myself again” This book will help you keep the weight off in the long term as long as you follow the suggestions
