I'm not sold on optical cables being something you need since copper does just fine at the same rated specs. Optical does, though, work at longer lengths, so it's practical if you have long runs for cable management reasons.Higher throughput though? Nah. If you have a copper 8k cable rated at 60hz refresh, that's what you get. If you have a fiber cable with the same rating, that's what you get. It's all dependent on the devices you're connecting. If they're rated with HDMI 2.1 and the cable is also rated to transmit over HDMI 2.1, then you're solid with fiber or copper.
