There's plenty of room for engraving, but it wouldn't seem to be worth the expense.

How do you get the wrapping off of the wine bottle? before you get to the cork

My son, a former bartender, showed me a no-fail method. Just grab the wrapping firmly and hold it while you twist the bottle. May be a bit snug at first, but keep twisting until the wrapping comes off in one piece. I use this method all the time now.
