I used the rug doctor, which resulted in my twist (frieze) carpeting getting very stiff when it dried. I bought my own carpet shampooing unit to do it all over again, and this rinse, on a recommendation of a google search. This stuff did the trick! The carpet is soft, no residue and it has a very nice scent.

Once I figured out the correct ratios for my carpet cleaner, it worked well.
