Model Jet Engines by Thomas Kamps
A must have for anyone who owns a model/RC Turbine Engine. I own a Wren 70 - this book is marvelous at explaining this little marvel turbojet engine.

Good Contents
Good historical descriptions of jet engines with a focus on model engines. Very good performance comparisons. But this book should only be viewed as a source of a basic introduction to jet engine design. While there are good performance guidelines and numbers, there is not nearly enough engineering details to design from scratch even though compressor designs are very well covered. However to say the least, there is very good information presented to help a person to start experimenting with jets.

Model Jet Engines
I have been flying radio controled airplanes on and off since I was 20 years old and I am now 71. A friend asked me if I would like to go to Winimac, Indiana and watch them fly real jet model airplanes and I said yes, needless to say I was amazed at the speed they flew. Those planes really peaked my interest and when I got home I looked at Amazon.com for a book on turbo jets and found this one then purchased it. I am a retired tool and die maker and auther of engine articals and two books now out of print. I believe this book has enough information in it so that I could build one of these engines. Two comments to any person who would try to build one of these engines: First when prehardened steel is machined never us oil, only use water and slow speed, and second when machining aluminum use water and some dish soap.Edward G.
