Ultrafino Havana Fedora Vented Panama Outback Straw Hat

The 3x size has always fit me in hats in the past, but this one was on the small side. Nice quality hat, and like most non-lacquered straw hats it will flex and stretch a little to fit your head size and shape if it's close. Unfortunately the leather band was much too small and tight and needed to be removed to allow the hat to fit.As it had pulled loose from the stitches already in a couple of places (it's just bar-tacked on in about 6 spots) it was easy to remove the rest of the way and it now fits, but the hat doesn't look as nice without it. Disappointing.Edit: I was able to take apart the stitched & glued ends of the hatband, open it up and glue it back together with the small loop and decorative feather covering the end-to-end new joint, then use the existing holes to bar-tack it back onto the hat. Looks good, fits properly, and has held up well for quite awhile now. One of my favorite cool, lightweight summer hats to keep the hot southern sun off, just took some extra work.

The one I received, the material around the inside isn't perfectly level so the straw material along the front touches my forehead a bit which makes for a sometimes scratchy less than comfortable feeling. Nothing too terrible, but noticeable and it diminishes the overall experience. I can probably do something about it, such as cut a piece of felt or something and glue it there. I'm an XL (7 1/2) and the XL is a nice fit, no problem there. The weave is a bit loose and light comes through all over the place, not just the obvious air holes around the crown. Overall, I'd say it's on the "cheap" side, which I suppose is to be expected in this price range. Although with shipping it was $55, which of course isn't a lot, but perhaps a little better quality could be hoped for. It was in a plastic bag just sitting in a standard shipping box of sufficient size, no complaint there.

Great hat, I'm VERY particular with my hats and was skeptical on ordering this w/o physically holding it or trying it on. The fit is perfect! It has a real nice wide 3" brim for ultimate shade and vented crown for good airflow. The crown vents aren't too big as to let sun in and burn your scalp (another concern of mine). I was also worried about the crown height being too tall, but height wasn't any issue. Overall, I love this hat!

After reading the reviews for this item and the concern about the shipping cost, I placed it in my wish list. It languished there for several months but one day I just decided the reviews were too good and I had to have one. I am glad I bit-the-bullet and ordered it. Delivery was prompt, the fit was true to size, the hat holds it shape, the venting around the top makes it a pleasure to wear in the summer. Feels very good on and I have gotten quite a few complements (on the hat!) Will order up another one if I ever manage to wear this one out.

I think this hat is the best purchase I've made this summer. I've worn it numerous times already. I wore it to Staten Island Pride the first time, and it got great reviews from everyone who saw me wearing it! Not only does the hat look great and add a lot of character and personality to any outfit, but it keeps my head cool and comfortable and keeps the sun out of my eyes. It's also standing up to multiple uses very well. I purchased another straw hat from a well-known catalog company, and it was poorly made, badly constructed, with bad straw and the first time I wore it, the straw started to become ragged and frayed. I only wore it one day! Not so with this hat! This hat still looks brand-new after multiple wearings. This hat is very well-made. My head is 22 1/4 inches, and the small/medium fit me just fine. Inside the brim is a cotton sweatband, and it helps keep your head cool and dry, and keeps the sweat out of your eyes.For comfort and distinction, you can't beat this hat!

Fit great, looks great! Loved the hat right up until it wind gust blew it off my head and onto the highway the second day I wore it. Unfortunately I backed all the way up to get my hat back and then it got ran over by a truck. I wet it and tryied to straighten it but unfortunatly it’s now just a severely creased work hat.Stampede strings next time.But it was great hat up until then

I was looking for something cooler for the summer months here in Florida. I have a lacquered straw Stetson that I love, but it gets a little warm in the hot summer months. This hat fits the bill. Natural straw with ample ventilation and a 3" brim. Some have said it is a little light weight. Perhaps it is; it's lighter than my Panama, but I think it will make a nice alternative for summer wear.
