Does this product come with the little Stitch character when bought?

I was wondering the same thing when I received the product. Based on reviews it looks like it does. I didn’t want to dig around since this is a gift, but my son put his finger in it and felt what is likely the Stitch character.

Any way to soften it up? Even back in the screw top jar it dried to a tough lump.
