I’m interested in buying this to make algae beads for biology classes. How would I maintain the culture if I bought it, but didn’t need it for months?

From what I understand, you would have to immobilize healthy cells in Calcium alginate to make your own beads. They are also available to purchase places. That being said, you could maintain this culture in media with a light source and distilled water with no chlorine. Zarrouk's media is popular and available, I believe SunCoast also sells that formula. I have ordered from SunCoast in the past and can't recommend them enough.
