Durability is sub par try the 1/2 before the 3/8
Worked well right out of the box was very impressed it being a 3/8 drive and all. Managed to drop subframes and zip out crank bolts from Hyundais. Axle nuts no problem. Got it mostly for the size and portability. Most of the work I do requires 3/8 size sockets due to confined spaces and this fit well in most areas all things considered. Battery lasted quite some time I was able to remove and install a long block from a sonata with a single charge on the 5ah battery. After maybe a month I don’t remember the tool started to cut out and flash the ring light. Thinking it was over heating from use and the overall temperature outside I left it alone and switch back to air tools for the rest of the day. I had the same problem from time to time and it got worse and more common as the week went on. IR customer service was helpful and efficient they replaced my tool without problem and repacked it as nicely as I sent it to them. Found I’m having the same problem I had before with a brand new tool. I haven’t had tried the 1/2 only the 3/8. I feel like the 3/8 might be too weak internally for the power this thing is outputting. Just seems like it’s binding up inside and shutting itself off for self preservation I would not recommend this model until it is updated. This has become my go to tool for when I have that odd fastener I can’t get out with my smaller 12v but I don’t expect to get continuous use out of it any more.

BEST CORDLESS IMPACT IN THE MARKET TO DATE!
The media could not be loaded. Well... I spent a very sufficient amount of time doing my research on this impact prior to purchasing and let me tell you, it is everything it is hyped up to be. I am a certified Jaguar and Landrover technician and put this impact through the paces the last couple days. It blows any Snap on cordless out of the water. I purchased the 3/8" w5132 in hopes I would like it so much that I would purchase the 1/2" model, but now I'm wondering if i even need the 1/2" model. I have yet to find a bolt that this gun can not remove. I have even removed crank pulley bolts with it(I have attached a video of it being done). DO NOT HESITATE IN BUYING THIS GUN! It is by far the best impact on the market right now and for the price, there's no reason to wait.

An outstanding money maker for any busy tech!
I have owned the 1/2" drive IR Impact Gun which takes this same battery so when I decided that the convenience of battery power was so overwhelming I bought this 3/8" stablemate. What a tool! It has a couple features I wish the 1/2" gun had; there is a circular light around the front which provides lots of illumination in dark areas like wheel wells, and the adjustable torque switch is fantastic! This tool can easily remove lug nuts which would make it a hazard on 6 and 8mm screws. But no! All you have to do is select a lower max torque setting and poof -no more danger. You can even select a 'snug down' setting for 6mm screws. The gun will shut off as soon as the screw is fully seated, you can then go back and torque with a torque wrench if you have to. This is a fantastic feature when doing a couple dozen oil pan screws/bolts!The wrench works all day in my busy shop without recharging. Lots of extra space in that battery! Buy it, you'll thank me later.

Out Preforms Snap On, Cornwell, Milwaukee
I'm a heavy equipment mechanic.. this was my first purchase of a Ingersoll Rand, battery inpact my only regreat was not buying it sooner this 3/8" drive I wanted to see how well it performs so I ask my fellow mechanics for a friendly competition ( die hard Snap On and Cornwell mechanics ) this IR out performs Snap On , Cornwell, and Milwaukeecross between the unmatched torque, to the lighting, to the money savings .. Ingersoll Rand has a customer for life this is the tool to buy ...

Good Quality IR
Greatest tool I ever had. lasted so far 18 month in the shop every day use. batteries are still in good shape. Tool still has balls like new. Going to buy another set for my houseP.S. 3 years later now.Tool is still working great just at times it may have delay when trigger is pushed. Still recommend it anyways. My buddies have Milwaukee or dewalt but this one is still beating those brand new ones.

Love the LED ring, great battery life
Had it for about half a year now, and so far i love it. I take off wheel lugs with it with no problem and the battery life was still good food swapping wheels a couple of times. LED light ring is also a big reason I bought it. Kinda wish I bought a 1/2 instead but it is what it is, I’m already $400 in

There great! This one us has the same great quality ...
I have a couple other Ingersoll Rand electric impacts. There great! This one us has the same great quality I've come to know and love. With this impact gun, I've been able to break lug nuts with a 3/8 to half inch impact adapter. But if you need real power for stubborn lug nuts, add the Ingersoll Rand W7150.
