Excellent quality and very lightweight
These are excellent pedals. I bought two pairs, one black and one silver. Fit and finish is as good as it gets, smooth threads, cleanly finished everywhere, smonth and quiet bearings with a satisfying dampened feel from being greased, no play, no stiffness. Very lightweight too, these are some of the lightest relatively inexpensive pedals that I could find, keeping in mind these are some of the larger platform pedals out there (I got big feet). They are ever so slightly concave, which gives nice contact with the shoe. The pins are not sharp, so won't take your skin off at every minor contact with it, but as with any type of pin they could hurt of you fall.I wish the center piece was not red as it does not match anything on my bikes, but other than that - no complaints.I can't say how durable or strong these will prove compared to other pedals as I just got them, but they seem well-made. The pins are from the outside-in type, meaning they might get damaged and hard to remove on a trail, but they are light and seem of good quality and purpose-made (not a garden variety bolts from the hardware store).I don't have a small scale, but the advertised weight seems right - they are noticeably lighter than my low-end Shimano clip pedals for my road bike which are much smaller in size.No complaints. I got one pair installed on my Giant Defy 1 road bike and the black color is a great match for the black Crankset and chain and rims. On my old Turner dual suspension mtb with polished aluminum cranks and chainstays the silver version of pedals are an excellent match.Shipping and packaging was good. Highly recommended these Terra Hiker pedals.

Great pedals for the price
For the low price, I am pleasantly surprised at the quality. They are very thin and seem to be machined aluminum. They look great except for the "L" and "R", which will hopefully wear off soon enough. The bearings seem very smooth. The pins are not like your typical "grub screw" flat pedal, which is the type I use for mountain biking. They are wider and not nearly as sharp as those. I like that for commuter biking because these pins do not tear into the sole of my shoes. I would say, however, that they do not provide as much traction as I want for mountain biking (I'm a downhiller) That would depend on the pattern on the sole of your shoe as well. For my commuter bike though it is perfect. I imagine if you need more traction you could replace the pins with grub screws. One quibble that keeps it from getting 5 stars is one of the pedals seems to have the the threads cut in at a slight angle. While threading the pedal in I could visibly see the pedal axle wobble. The other pedal did not do this. I figured if I could feel this while pedaling I would return them for another set, but I can't notice it at all so I am not concerned.I can't comment on longevity of the bearings, but at this price I am not concerned at all. If I get a year out of them I will be happy.Overall a great buy for a town bike, but not enough grip for downhilling.

These pedals are so much better than what came on our bikes
These pedals are so much better than what came on our bikes! Great grip, good width, not too heavy. Only beef I have is, the left one has come unscrewed completely once(the pedal from the shaft), and it came loose one other time. It is virtually impossible to screw the pedal part back on to the shaft any tighter, so I have to ride being conscious of this potential issue.

Great wide profile grippy pedals for your Mountain/Fat Bike
Shipped quickly by Amazon. Looked at a lot of Mountain bike pedals to replace my stock plastic ones on a fat bike. Many were over $100. These got great reviews and the price was amazingly inexpensive for an aluminum body ball bearing bike pedal. They look great and installed easily.. just make sure when you tighten them toward the front tire (the direction you are pedaling forward). They have a nice wide platform, seem solid and well-made. Took them out for a ride on a local singletrack trail in the woods.. nice and grippy. I love them.

Perfect Pedals!!
These look perfect on my black and red Diamondback mountain bike! As a matter of fact they look like they came on the bike and compared to the plastic ones that did I wish these would have. These are lightweight and very well made. I am guessing that they will last the life of the bike. They were a wonderful upgrade and I am glad I purchased them.

Trading grip and stabilty for low profile
In normal shoes without much tread pattern the main point of contact is the axle cylinder, which is slippery as ice. The teeth in the front and back of the pedal grip well, but you have to consciously keep leverage on them. These pedals are lovely to look at, but a complete failure of design, and in my opinion unsafe unless you are also wearing shoes with a thick sole and lots of tread.

A great deal for a solid pair of pedals.
The pedals arrived nicely packaged and well greased internally. Install was a breeze and the pedals feel very sturdy while riding. These were purchased to replace the pedals on my commuter bike. I am now 3 months in and I love them. My feet have not slipped once despite biking in heavy rain with normal shoes.

Good Product!
Ride daily standing and sitting. Mountain Biking. they look great are easy to install. reports of people breaking them I was worried about this but i am only 200 lbs i could see maybe if youre someone closer in the 300ish range maybe think about buying something more heavy duty. My ONLY complaint about this is that if the pedal hits your shin it will hurt and might cut skin but thats the price to be paid for these pedals has only happenedtwice
