What is the shortest dimension when the pan is in upright position? I have a five inch wide space beside my stacking washer/dryer to store this

If you fit the broom over the "fingers" and then close and lock the pan, the thickest part is 3 1/2 inches. It is 39" tall. This should easily fit in a 5" wide space.

How wide is the dustpan when folded up? I'd like to know if it would fit between the counter and fridge

2 3/4" from the deepest part of the pan. I absolutely love this broom/dustpan set. It doesn't take up much space to store, has a comb attached to pull the brush part through to release fuzzies, and is so handy for a quick sweeping.

The broom head the hard part the bristles are attached to is about 6 ¾ inches wide by a little under an inch thick.

Does your broom snap in place to the dustpan? I got a broom that falls down the snap of the dustpan upright

Once the dust pan is flipped up you tuck the broom in the pan. There is a snap clip on the handle that holds the two handles firmly together.
