thy-509y-c Exhaust Header for Toyota Tacoma 2.4L, 2.7L 4 Cylinders

These headers made my car fail smog and now the car can not be registered in CA any more. This was a 5000 dollar mistake, at least. Doug Thorley management had no interest in making it right and is a joke in terms of customer service. Would not recommend Doug Thorley headers.

Does not fit later model Tacoma with redesigned Air Switching Valve. Also, Gaskets and hardware are NOT included with the kit as in the description.

I pondered the header replacement for almost a year. Well I figured I could treat myself to a holiday present.First off if you are thinking about replacing your stock manifold(which is also a header) Doug Thorley is the onlychoice. The package from one of Amazons suppliers arrived earlier than expected and in a factory sealed box.Upon examination was very happy with construction and finish. They say all parts are included but that assumes you use old gaskets. Bad idea. I purchased original parts from Toyota online including head/header gasket, header to down pipe cone gasketand air exchange gaskets(2). That added an additional 75$. If your like me you would probably defer install to a recommendedmuffler shop. Headers can really be a pain in the a**. So for an additional 200$ I had the pro's do the labor. Trust me it's worth itthey used these hi quality copper plated Nuts/bolts.Now for the report after install. Don't expect dramatic change. I can feel the engine breathing easier and with only a tank of gasproject better milage. There is very little difference in loudness over the stock system. As advertised there's a bit more hp therefrom bottom to just before redline. The stock header was probably lighter than the DT but the DT has a lifetime warranty andis CARB approved.Very Happy with the long thought decisionCheers

I love the add performance it gave my truck, for the longest time I felt like I was driving around with 4 flat tires! Great performance upgrade, no longer have any type of lack of power! Heavier 14 gage tubing is used, while others use only 16 gauge. Did have a problem with the header flange not lining up, this created an exhaust noise when accelerating. After 3 trips to two different muffler shops, it was found that their was a leak at the misaligned flange. Not wanting to remove it and mail it back to the manufacturer. The fix was to weld the catalytic converter pipe directly to the header flange, thus voiding my warranty cause of alteration of the header.

I got one of these on my 20 tacoma 2.7 with afe dry pro intake and DT header with magnaflow exrust It work really nice great hp from everything definitely help go up hill u can tell around 2500 rpms
