what does pgx contain ??

It's a combination of konjac root, sodium alginate (a thickener derived from seaweed), and xanthan gum (a thickener derived from the bacterial coat of Xanthomonas campestris). The main ingredient is glucomannan powder (from the konjac root), which is a water soluble fiber. PGX is the name for this company's blend of the three ingredients listed above. Many other companies make glucomannan pills that do not have the other ingredients. I think these would be just as helpful for curbing an appetite. I am not sure that there is any real advantage to having the other two ingredients (although seaweed has great benefits). Konjac is a Japanese plant that has been consumed for many years. They make a jelly-like cake out of this and call it Konnyaku (yam cake, even though it is not a yam..). They also make konnyaku noodles, known as shirataki noodles. All of these are great alternatives to a powder supplement, since they can actually be eaten and prepared in creative ways. Most glucomannan powder originates from China. I would recommend searching for some that comes from elsewhere. Chinese food products scare me. :(
