not red
I ordered the red pad and this pad is dusty rose. Its packaging says it's red, and it has a photo of a red pad on the packaging, but the pad itself is not red.I like the color - it's pleasant. But in case you're looking for something to fit into a palette of primary colors, this won't.It is 1" thick, as advertised. The packaging is nice - it's minimal, with no plastic that I noticed. Good for the environment! My left knee needs extra cushion when I'm holding lunges and square splits (one leg in front of the other). I've used this on a couple of different floors and I no longer experience knee pain. The pad smells fine - it doesn't have a plasticky odor.I tried a foam pad once that was meant as a seat cushion. The surface was pulled tight by my knee and so it felt hard under my knee. This pad has a waffled surface so it gives and doesn't have that problem.

Knee saver
It's a great pad, plenty thick and really makes a difference if you have sensitive knees. The size that it is makes it easy to throw to the side and pull back when you need it. I do wish it was just a tad larger as it is just big enough for one knee. Anything you're doing where you have both knees down and you're kind of out of luck - trying to use this for two knees and you get both knees falling off the sides (unless you're really tiny of course). I'd get a second one, but then I'd be placing two separate items in the middle of transitions ... so I'm sticking it out with just the one for now.If they came out with an XL sized one I'd jump on it.

A. Must Have For My Practice
Love this thing. I have used it four or five times a week for several months now. Oddly, I find myself using it more as a pillow during shivasana, and as a sorta face pad when my head goes off the mat during pigeon, low lizard, or frog pose. I like that I know where it's been (as opposed to using a blanket from the communal pile that was just used in a hot class in an adjacent room....ewwww), it's light and easy to carry around.I do wish it was a little bit thinner, because I feel like the thickness puts my feet and ankle at an awkward angle during poses like lizard, or Anjali asana (yeah, sp, I know) and I wish it were longer for things like camel pose, so I could get both knees on top.Like I said, I have used it dozens of times so far. The material is quality, and does not crumble or shred like, say, a cheap mat might. It looks the same right now as the first day I had it. It seems to be a thick neoprene. But, wishes aside, for what it is, it is awesome, and I would not practice without it. Period. I see many jealous looks cast my way.

These are great. They are a bit bigger than I expected
I have trouble in some yoga poses because of my sensitive knees. These are great. They are a bit bigger than I expected, but that's totally fine. They will work for any size body. They are made of a sturdy foam like a yoga mat itself. Good quality! However, I am rating them 3 stars due to the price. At $12.99 each, purchasing 2 (because I have 2 knees of course) cost me nearly $26. That is nearly what I paid for a full size yoga mat of nearly the same material. There are some discount stores in my area that sell yoga mats for like $15-20, so I had a thought that someone could buy one of those and cut it to make their own pads like this for much cheaper!

it's painful to do crunches and other floor exercises
I use this when doing floor exercises because of so many tailbone injuries, it's painful to do crunches and other floor exercises. This helps relive my tailbone pain and had also helped with lower backpain during yoga exercises. The only one downside is that I wish it was a tad wider, but other than that, I love it.

Overpriced
The product is OK but is way overpriced. I have one rat pad but I usually use the garden kneeler which works better and is cheaper. http://www.amazon.com/Tommyco-KP818-Purpose-Garden-Kneeler/dp/B001JEOH50/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1365960371&sr=8-4&keywords=garden+kneeler

does not bounce back
I already had one of these and loved it. I bought a second one to take with me when I travel. The new one does not spring back quickly after being compressed. Which means that it is flat as a pancake by the end of yoga class, providing no knee support at all. You can even press a dent into it with your finger that does not pop back up right away. I was very disappointed, especially since I love the old one that I already had. Did they change the formula of the rubber? I don't know. But whatever they did was a mistake. I returned it.

Does the job but they sent the wrong color
This pad is exactly what I need in my yoga practice. I've had it for almost a year and use it at least 2x/week and it's held up well. I have a lingering knee injury that makes some simple poses (like tabletop or low crescent lunge) difficult, but this pad makes them possible my softening the impact. My rating is lower because I ordered the green/teal pad and was sent the purple one instead; I needed to use it right away and wasn't able to exchange it. It still irritates me that I got a different one than I ordered.

In hindsight....
Great help to my knee but it would be better if it was just the width of the yoga mat rather a round shape that gets in the way when you're off your knees but still in downward dog for e.g.You can't kneel on it with both knees unless they are together i.e. Not hip distance apart......

My new favourite stretching and yoga prop
I was skeptical about getting this despite the positive reviews because it doesn't look very thick in the picture, and I thought it might be made out of the same kind of thick material those puzzle shaped mats are made out of so I was contemplating just making my own, but I bought this impulsively anyway and I am really glad I did, because it is nothing like what I was expecting it to be.It's way thicker than I thought, and it's very comfortable and squishy on the knees, it's not hard like those puzzle mats it's nice and soft, yet also firm enough to not cause any balance issues during stretches and yoga poses. It's also absolutely gorgeous, the turquoise is true to its colour in real life. It also has textured sides so it doesn't slide around on the floor.

How was this never invented before?
How was this never invented before? I've spent my entire yoga life struggling with being on my knees because I have meniscus damage that makes my knee shift around whenever I'm on it. It's less than graceful to fold my mat over, especially in hot yoga class where I have a mat and a mat towel. I've been bringing another towel for my knee but you have to fold it up into eighths and even then it's big and gets in the way of your other limbs. This pad is the same thickness as a 1 inch block, but has the same feel as a yoga mat. The round shape gives you more room to move around it. Pure genius.

Worth the money
A must-have for any practicing yogi. These pads are a good size and made of incredibly dense foam, providing exceptional cushioning for joints. It's so thick that I wouldn't recommend for hand balancing inversions because the density makes it too unstable, but using two might be okay for downward dog. Even though I really only need one, I bought a second one to keep my posture aligned and stable.
