Product descriptions says "It has adjustable self-selection function, and you are free to choose the temperature and time you want" So where is timer?

It doesn't have a timer. Very basic control's, on/off and temperature. That said it is an excellent dehydrator. I've made beef jerky, dried pineapple and strawberries. Hope this helps 😊

How sturdy are the trays, for washing, etc? Other versions are said to be flimsy. And you can use just one or two trays, right? Thanks.

The trays are very flimsy. Mine started cracking and splitting after a few uses despite careful handling and washing by hand. I wouldn't buy one with plastic shelves again, for longer term use would go for metal shelves as featured on more expensive models.
