Im 5'3 153lbs and 40DD would a large fit or should I size up?

I would size up. I wore L and I am 5'9 145 36B. I purchased in white and fabric was very sheer. Had to wear a tank top under it.

I used to buy a lot of these over the years but the fabric seems to have changed to a stretchier knit that is just way too bug even in xs?

The material is thin. I had never purchased this brand before. It's not what I was hoping for. I wanted more of a thick compression fabric and this isn't it. Thin tee material.

Does it run small? Should I go up a size?

No. Pretty true to size, however it's long. Good for someone who has a long torso.
