Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Gel Souffle, 12 Ounce

DO NOT BUY! CAN'T RETURN. "Water, Glycerin, Corn Syrup"! Those are the first ingredients on the container I received. I compared to the listing on here and yep - totally different ingredients! My hair is sticky (corn syrup), and tangled! Gross, gross, gross. I would return in a heartbeat if I could. This is my first negative experience out of ordering many items from Amazon.

This product has changed in a horrible way! I don't know if this is some kind of knock off gone wrong or if Shea moisture is just lying about what's in the products now. I used to use this product as a moisturizing layer for my wash and go. It used to leave my hair soft and moisturized for days now my hair feels like straw!!! Flaxseed and coconut oil have been replaced with corn syrup and some weird alcohol. Not at all as advertised on site. I am very disappointed. Dont waste your money.

I purchased this before and loved it so much because I finally found something that works for my hair and so I decided to purchase it a second time. Second time around I was disappointed not sure if it was the real thing or a what. The gel received was a hard texture that couldn’t be put on the hair at all. It felt like jello that didn’t dissolve.

I have used this product for years with no problem. I have purchased it in the store and here on Amazon with no problem. The product in this order was a very different consistency than previously purchased. It was solid . I could not smooth it on my hair. I added water and this made it break into a bunch of little chunks that would not dissolve. Not sure if this was just a bad batch but I am hesitant to order it off of Amazon again.

This stuff is awful. Even with a diffuser the sticky feeling does not come out. This is nor a gel, nor a leave in conditioner. I really dont know what this is supposed to do.

If you’re looking for a gel to add shine and moisture to your curls then this is the one, but if you’re looking for strong hold and definition, then not so much. I have 3c/4a curls and the soufflé made them really soft and shiny. There was a bit of a sticky feeling to some curls, but that’s only if you use too much. I was able to get good definition by using my Denman brush and applying the coconut curl and hibiscus smoothie before the gel.It smells pretty good, but it has a weird texture. It almost feels like tiny bits of sugar are in the gel and it’s runny. So, I read the ingredients and one of them just so happens to be cane sugar..interesting. But this product doesnt have a jelly like consistency, not like eco styler gel at least. It’s not the best, but it works for me and you should give it a try!

I have fine 2B/C wavy hair and decided to give this a try. I'm try to use natural products on my hair since I had an allergic reaction to a different product in June. I lost about 1/3 of my hair because of it. Anyway, I have lose curly/wavy hair and I've been looking for something to give my curls hold that lasts through-out the day. The product I use in the summer just isn't moisturizing enough for the cold New England weather. The jar of gel I got was more like a harder jello then gel - but after looking it up on their website, its ok and not uncommon for the product to do that. It should still work fine in the firmer state. I can't tell yet if I like this product or not. There's a fine line of using too little and using too much. The smell is light and fades away, the gel doesn't irritate my scalp or cause flakes. If I use too much, it gets a little crunchy, but I just scrunch that out, my hair is SHINY but it doesn't hold the curl. If I use too little, there's no crunch but its still shiny. So far, I feel like this is a light hold product that can help with moisture and shine and can be a great product once you figure out the best way to apply it.

I recently went back to my natural roots and was proud to wear my TWA in public but wondered about this wash and go phenomenon. Decided to try this product out with the Lottabody leave in and let me tell you....I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! I have tried other curling creams with my twists and my scalp is like HELL NO!! Since I've started using this souffle my scalp hasn't not flaked, has not itched and my hair is ohhhh so soft!!! This will DEFINITELY be a staple in my natural hair journey!

I'm Not sure if this product is genuine. The consistency is different, the texture is gritty and doesn't appear to be mixed well. The gel leaves a very greasy and heavey residue on the hair and worse of all it also leaves white bits in the hair. Which is completely different to experience to the same product I bought else where. Not impressed, very disapointed.

Used to love this product but haven’t been able to get it from my local store recently. I can see why, product has a grainy texture which is something new (as other reviewers have stated). Does the job but 3 stars as it isn’t nice to use, and as a result it’s sitting in my drawer unused

Oh how I wish I had read the reviews on the Shea Moisture website as I would never have purchased it..do not be misled this is not a gel but a block of gelatin like substance that is so solid it leaves an imprint of your fingers, and if you attempt to rub into your hands it rolls into glue like balls.. I didn't attempt to put it into my hair. If I could give it less than 1 star I would. So disappointed! Please quality check the batch with the retailer.
