Dog Fire Hydrant Garden Statue with 2 Stakes, 14 Inches (Small)

This is the cutest fire hydrant! The size and weight is perfect. We have two, intact, one year old terriers who we're trying to train to go in one area outside and not marking all the outdoor furniture. During the Winter they went wherever (basically because we were too lazy to go out in the cold), now we have to deal with stopping them from marking everything. It works great and only took a few days to teach them that the fire hydrant is where you go. Now the fire hydrant is the first place they run to outside. We also have a smaller one on their indoor piddle pads, so they already associated that object with the correct place to go inside. And it’s such a beautiful little fire hydrant even if you aren’t using it for dogs.

I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY SMALL DOG TWO YEARS AGO. IT LOOKS CUTE IN THE DOGGIE YARD. HE DOESN'T PEE ON IT BUT IT IS JUST TOO CUTE NEXT TO THE DOG HOUSE. WE LIVE IN HOT WEATHER IN THE SUMMER AND FREEZING WEATHER IN THE WINTER AND IT IS HOLDING UP REALLY WELL.

Trying to train a puppy so I thought this would be a good addition for the garden and the puppy. It looks nice in the garden. But it has one design flaw. The rings that you are supposed to stake this into the ground are just screwed into the plaster on the bottom. When you push the stakes into the ground the screws and rings come off the fire hydrant so you can't really stake it. They should have something other than plaster to screw the rings into so they are more secure. Having said that, it is fairly heavy and it would have to be quite windy to blow over although the dog could push it over. We'll see how it goes

This product is a great way to keep your potty training on track once your dog starts lifting his leg. Also, awesome for small dogs that use pee pads. I have an 8lbs, 12" tall (at the withers) Chihuahua. We use 23"x23" pee pads (2 side by side). I place this in the middle of one and my little guy loves using it. It's sturdy. Never have to worry about him knocking it over. Our female Chi uses the pads too. She doesn't mind it and will go potty right next to it.I hose it off in the shower with the handheld spray head, but a tub works too. I spray it with a little lysol cleaner, as well as the shower. No scrubbing required. I'll let him use it for a couple days, and change the pads regularly. Washing it it gives him a fresh palate on which to leave his scent. Too long and he will loose interest in it. Perfect size. Because, he's small his stream never overshoots beyond the pad.When I first got it I rubbed a wet pee pad on it. Told him good potty as I touched the top. I then stood him next to it manually lifted is leg, gave him praise and a treat a couple times and he had it down. I wish I would have bought it proactively just before puberty. Highly recommend for inside pee pad use.

I put the fire hydrant in the center of the pee pad and wiped it with the used part of the pad to transfer scent. I have 3 small dogs who could’ve cared less if they even got close the pee pad before and now they’re using it. They don’t directly use the hydrant, they pee next to it. It’s quite sturdy and heavy enough that it doesn’t knock over, and it really is pretty cute as far as a fire hydrant sitting in the living room goes. So this was a success, now my daughter is purchasing one for her dog.(I’ve never written the word “pee” so many times in one paragraph or sent a picture of a used pee pad before haha)

Not sending item back it is going outside and very cute however there was a piece broken off of it when we received it. Would buy again but will send next one back if broken.So So Happy Customer

I love this little fire hydrant. It's obviously not true to size. I love that there are stakes included to stake it down so that it doesn't get tipped or blown over. We bought it to try and keep our little guy from watering my plants and killing them. He didn't use it right away. I had to take a paper towel after he had gone elsewhere and rub it in there, then rub it on the fire hydrant. He's used it a few times since then, even though he doesn't use it all the time it's a cute addition to our yard. We are in the process of adding sod, maybe it will be more successful after that has been added.

Super tiny. Not sure if it works or not. I'm sure my dog think its a toy.
