Is this basically just vasaline?

No. It does look like Vaseline however the two are different. I did notice small grazes and nicks healed quickly. I would buy it again. Vaseline is just a barrier for skin but it does not help it to heal. Hope this helps. I had a minor cut on my finger and it healed very quickly. I don’t think it is suitable for deep cuts however.

Can this be used on saddle sores?

I would think it can be used on anything, it is very effective.

Does this actually get rid of scratches ?
