Can purple pvc primer be used when joining this to white pvc ?

Yes, clean, prime and your good to go. Hooks right up to standard 2" shower trap.

Does this allow Neodrain linear drains to work with a Schluter linear drain shower tray ?

My plumber was not able to figure it out, so I wound up buying a different drain entirely

Did what it does

The tile guy installed this in my shower before he started the floor pan. So I can't say how easy it was but it worked and the shower is tiled.

Has weep holes, designed for traditional shower pan construction

This hub has weep holes, which do make it into the inner drain because the inner diameter of the upper part is larger than the ID of the lower part. The presence of the weep holes means this drain is designed to be used with a rubber membrane between 2 layers of mud, and not for use with liquid topical membrane (unless using the divot method).Works well with the Neodrain linear drains.
