I am Neil Armstrong (Ordinary People Change the World)

I just received this yesterday and read it to my 6 yr old son. My son is obsessed with space, had a rocket scientist as a grandpa and already wants to be an engineer. I not only love the illustrations in this book, but it is so well written. I actually thought it would be a much simpler book because of the cover, but it had a lot of information about Neil Armstrong and was so very inspirational! I darn nearly cried at the end! No joke!!! Love this and will probably have to order the other biography books by this author!

Kids loved the book. We read it for our One Giant Leap leap day.

We have a collection of these OPCTW books and this one has definitely been long awaited for. It really gets to the roots of what engineering is, and how Neil Armstrong dealt with every life-threatening situation with calm, cool and collected grace. A really well painted portrait of the inner strength of Neil. Also chock full of information on the vehicles, and the international space programs at the time. My 4 and 6 year olds are enraptured by the book. Also the foldout spread of the Earthrise shot is a great touch to really hit home—that was the first moment in human history that a human had seen the Earth from afar. Brilliant little book about a big human.

This was an excellent biography about Neil Armstrong. My 5 year old granddaughter was totally interested and fascinated with this particular biography. The book is full of interesting and important facts. It’s well written and wonderfully illustrated. Outstanding biography!

Disclaimer: I’ve written the same review to almost all the books on this series. My daughter and son loves them.Been purchasing the whole series for a few months now. Super easy readings for kids, even for the 20-min trip between house and school. Interesting lives, and you can later discuss the story with the kids. I have found that most of them (stories) stick to their minds, even recalling full names and events a few weeks/months later.

I bought this book along with several others from this book series for my 7 year old son. This is beautifully written and has adorable illustrations. My son loved this book and I absolutely adore the message the story delivers. All of these stories are very inspiring. I'm very happy with this purchase and I am excited to continue reading the rest of the series with my children

My grandsons and I have really enjoyed reading this book about Neil Armstrong. It has been delightful to see their excitement to learn about his life and being an astronaut. The book explains how Neil Armstrong did things in his life to help him become what he wanted to be. It is a great learning tool.
