YogaRat SportLite Beach Towel, 100% Microfiber, 32" x 68"

I purchased the beach towel version (32" x 68") of the YogaRat towel to use as a large but compact beach/pool towel. I'm 6'-1" so I wanted a large towel and I like to travel light- if I cannot fit it into a day-pack, it's not coming with me. I chose and received the Ember/Sun color combo- basically bright, warm red with bright orange piping. I had no color preference but figured the bright colors would be easy to spot at a pool or on a beach. Other customers have reported dye bleeds, even after washing and drying. I do not know about other colors, but the ember/sun combo = no dye-bleed. I washed and dried my towel with other like colored clothing as soon as I received it and a couple of days later, brought it with me on a one week beach trip. Day one, I was in white board shorts and sat/laid on this towel wet and dry for hours with zero dye transfer. Day two, I spread it over a light-gray chair and sat against it wearing a white, cotton tee shirt- no bleed. At the end of the week, no color-transfer of any kind to anything, even washing with dissimilar, lighter colors.The towel itself is thin and soft to the touch, but not like most microfiber fabrics. There is nothing "puffy or fluffy" about it. It is flat. It doesn't have the glossy "plastic-feel" that some of the flat microfiber towels do. Instead, it feels almost like felt. But, it DOES absorb water very well and is comfortable on at least my skin. Oddly, it doesn't dry very quickly as compared to other "terry" towels. In a clothes dryer- no problem, but hanging or laid in the sun, it stays damp for quite a while. I suppose that's a consequence of its absorbency- designed to pull water away and hold it so it doesn't give the water up easily.It was great for the beach. It is ridiculously compact. When folded, it's about the size/thickness of an ipad. When rolled, it's about the size of a 32 ounce water bottle. Open it up, and the 32" x 68" looks huge. As added bonus, no sand pushes through it when you lay on it and one gentle shake and the backside is sand free- no semaphore required as with the ten-minute sand shake for terry looped-towels. The fabric is smooth so it won't snag. AS far as warmth, it is thin so you don't get the fur-coat feeling or help you retain heat per se, BUT it blocks the wind beautifully. All of the stitching, even the hanging loop (teal-colored on mine), is of very good quality. I have only had it for a couple of weeks, but expect it will perform well in the long-run. Maybe not for everyone, but personally, I love it!

Ordered to be able to use a smaller bag to go to the gym. The feel is a bit different since I am used to a cotton towel but it worked well and I'm sure I'll get used to it. Great reduction in the space needed to carry.

I bought several of these towels because I have a small washer/dryer set and wanted to get all my towels washed in one load. I discovered that's just one reason to love these towels. It's true I can wash and dry 6 large towels in one load. They use less water and soap than the traditional loop weave towels do. I feel they get cleaner because there are no loops harboring and hiding dirt. I also feel they rinse better, because there is no place for the soap to hide. I think another reviewer mentioned that these towels seem to get a lot of crud on them. That's true--it's called dead skin--coming off of you and sticking to the towel. I'd rather it be on the towel than on me. Because I can wash a lot of towels in one load, I don't mind using the towel just once. I'm feeling a lot cleaner these days. They dry like a chamois does, and wick the water off your skin, really well. If you like the comfy feel of a loop weave towel, these aren't for you but in my case, I love feeling very dry and having the dead skin gone. I don't regret the purchase.

The product is as described and works very well. It's thin and very absorbant. I bought this as well as a "bath" sized towel. Together they take up less than 1/3 the space of a traditional bath towel in my gym bag. This size is great being able to thoroughly wrap around me in the locker room. Plenty of excess, so it stays in place. I like the bath-sized to dry long hair. They also dry quickly when hung up. I know some reviewers did not like the feel of the material, but it is very soft and not all that different from other "sports" towels on the market. If you want the feel of a terri cloth towel, don't buy a sports towel. I like it so much, I put more on my wish-list.Yes, the color leaks on the first wash - not that much different than other darkly died clothing/towels. I would recommend washing it alone or with items of similar color the first time or two.

It seemed like it was going to be a great buy. It was a beautiful towel, nice size. But then I washed it and tried using it. I ended up all blue with lint and looked like a smurf. Maybe the lint would have stopped after a few washes? But I wasn't going to risk taking it on my long trip, so I returned and got another one.

I love these towels! I bought them for our vacation to Carolina beach. At first when I read about the microfiber material I was skeptical of how well they would repel sand, but they easily repel sand with a couple shakes! Another positive thing I noticed was after drying off I could put the towel on my back and the damp towel would keep me cool in the hot sun. They are very soft and comfy. They absorb a lot of water. They dried quickly even in the humid climate. I'm thinking about getting the large beach blanket size for future trips to the beach. These worked perfectly at the beach, I'm so glad I purchased them!

It is really soft and light, dry fast after washing, but it doesn't absorb much water when you try to dry yourself. It's more than "just ok" but less than "I like it". Since I have no experience with other microfiber towel and I'll definitely prefer this towel than usual cotton towel to bring with on a trip, I give it 4 stars.

Bought two of these towels for a recent camping trip and they did not disappoint. They were fast drying and we were certainly glad to have them! We particularly found the loop useful for hanging the towel.Before buying, I contemplated long and hard about whether to get the beach/pool size or go with the smaller size, but at the end of the day I opted for the beach size. I was glad... they not only worked great for the shower, but also doubled as a beach towel. The sand shook right out and it was nice to have dual functioning towels when camping! Very happy with this purchase.

Great size for my swimmer- it fits into his swim training bag without taking up too much space and dries really quickly. Washes well and retains colour without bleeding.

Ich hatte mir dieses Handtuch für den anstehenden Andalusienurlaub bestellt. Geliefert wurde es aufgerollt. Nach dem Öffnen stank es dermaßen nach Chemie, dass ich es erst einmal im Waschbecken daheim waschen wollte. Das war mein großes Glück, denn innerhalb kürzester Zeit war das gesamte Waschbecken BLAU! Ich habe FÜNFMAL das Wasser gewechselt und JEDESMAL war das Wasser anschließend dunkelblau gefärbt. ich weiß nicht, ob ich mich mit so einem Handtuch noch abwaschen möchte.

Love this towel. It's absorbant and light weight. It's great that it takes up very little room in my gym bag. Would definitely recommend this towel to others!
