Sorry you cannot plug this into a regular outlet. This is is an extension only. You can only plug a J1772 connector to another J772 connector to make it a longer cable. It’s great for when you’re at a Public EV charger station and the cord is too short. Another example would be if a car is parked in EV spot is not charging their car. All you do is park next to them and use the extender and pull cable around their car and plug it into your car. LOL. I see too many cars and they are not charging the car. All you do is parked next to them like him extensively and plug in your car. LOL. I see too many Electric cars parked in a charging spot that aren’t even charging their cars. You bastards!

Ad says 40amp but the box say "single phase" which is 110v (max 20a) in the usa. so can it handle usa "220v 40amp 2 phase" or single phase 110x20amp?

I use mine on a level 2 (220v) charger at 30amp because that is all my car will use(Fiat 500e). If the manufacturer special 40amp make sure not to exceed that specification of you could have a fire, melt the connectors, or some similar dangerous failure. The 220 v reference is not actually 2 phase because it is not referenced to the neutral it is referenced phase to phase which are 180degrees out of phase thus combine to be a single phase. So two110v single phase circuits referenced to neutral which are 180 degrees out of phase will give you 220v when measured from phase to phase and 120v from each phase to neutral. If you were to put the 220 v signal on an oscilloscope you would see a single sine wave not two.
