This item is not what it says it is...
This items description was posted as "...Features: 12 MRE Full Case. 8 oz Entree (6 varieties, 2 of each in every case, total 12 MRE kits per case). ..." I received only 11 "MRE"'s and they were very small ratios in comparison to the gov. issued MRE, Also the description says you would receive two of each of the six, i received 3 of one kind and a few that i only got one of... this MRE package doesn't include any heater for your coarse like an MRE should and in the description it tells you that with your meal you will receive "Side Dish or Dry Fruit. 2 oz Raisins & Mix Nuts. 2 oz Cookies. Drink Mix (orange flavor). Accessory Pack (spoon, coffee, sugar, creamer, salt, pepper, napkin, moist towel)." I did not receive any Dry fruit, Raisins & mixed nuts, or Drink mix and the accessory pack didnt contain any creamer or a napkin. The description of this product is missleading in every way...I would NOT recommend this product to anyone due to the missleading nature of the discription!

these mre are terrible compared to any other ones. Also why the heck is there no cheese or peanut butter to go with the crackers.

These are NOT MREs
The title is misleading. While these are meals and are "ready to eat", the term "MRE" normally refers to a specific type of government-issue ration. These are somewhat good, but significantly inferior to "real" MREs. (It's been several years since I had "real" MREs; from what I understand, they are continuously improved upon. My last MREs dated from around 2002.)The meals I received consisted of a main course (some type of stew or pasta in sauce), dried fruit, mixed nuts, 4 lemon cookies, and drink mix. Also included was a heater pouch and a small accessory pack with spoon, napkin, salt, pepper, coffee, and sugar. They might have a wider selection of main dishes, but everything I received was stew or pasta.Give this to anyone who has eaten a real MRE, and they will immediately ask: "Where's the peanut butter?" - it's not here. Neither is the actual side dish present in most MREs, nor are the crackers. While food choices are going to be limited in any type of ration, these offer a particularly narrow selection. Every meal is stew, fruit, nuts, cookies. I've eaten "real" MREs for a week straight without a major reason to complain; I would tire of these after three in a row. With "real" MREs, the type of main dish varies and isn't limited to stews and pastas. The side dish/dessert varies, and there is even some variation in the rest: plain crackers, vegetable crackers, bread; peanut butter, cheese, jalapeño cheese; various types of jams jelly. I've heard some new ones include a milkshake! While you probably won't find real, government-issue MREs on Amazon, you can find very similar products. 9218 SURE PAK COMPLETE MEALS WITH HEATERThis page has a lot more information on this product: mreinfo com

Product out of date.
I was disappointed to learn how dated (old) the package only after I received it. Next time post the age of the product when selling the product.

Experienced MRE Eater
I'm a former Marine who has eaten more than my fair share of real MRE's and these don't even come close. A couple reviews below seem be to talking about actual gov issued MRE's not these MRE Star brand. The latest gov issued MRE's are really surprisingly good...these MRE Star packets are no where near the same quality. Granted I can only attest to the Beans in Ham (really just Beans and ham, no rice and very salty), the stews (bland but edible), the pasta with marinara sauce (horrible, truly horrible), I think another came in the box also but not worth the effort to try and remember what it was. It is remotely possible that the other flavors are the best ever (that would be a shocker).Never posted a negative review before but these while they will at a base level provide nutrients/calories, are dreadful. Wish they would have included Tabasco to at least mask the flavor a bit. I do give it 2 stars because I choked down an entire box (not in one sitting) while in Haiti in 2011 without getting sick. Please don't make that same mistake! Drop a few extra dollars and try one of the real gov issued MRE's, you'll be amazed. Best way to ruin your day is with a bad meal, ask any grunt.
