Charming
The first lamp arrived and without unwrapping the glass chimney, I could tell it was broken. It was packaged well but sustained damage. I requested a replacement and before I sent the broken one back, the day after receiving it, a new one was on it’s way. The second lamp arrived in excellent shape. I put it together, filled it with lamp oil, and it works great. Charming for Valentine’s Day and excellent customer service.UPDATE - There are some harsh reviews about this lamp but they were lamps purchased a few years ago. If they were defective, the merchant has corrected that problem. I always fill my oil lamps over the sink. If it slips from your hand or leaks it’s not a problem. Use some common sense with an oil lamp. Things happen in shipping that can cause damage that we never see. Give the merchant a chance to make it right. I will not hesitate to purchase again from 21st Century.

Essential product
Very nice attractive product. What was more impressive was the wrapping. For a non food item it took 30 minutes to get into the box and I have sharp knives. The wrapping inside was equally impressive. Packer might need to be treated for OCD disorder. That being said one globe was broken but I could not blame the packer. Stuff happens.

MUCH better than candles during power outages. Very pretty during dining.
I much prefer these lights to candles during power outages. (MUCH safer!). I use them at my dining room gatherings as tney are quite pretty & don't drip wax onto my linen table cloths. The lanten base holds enough oil for more than 10 hrs of straight burning at normal (not over-bright) light. Cleaning is simple - soap & water & a soft bottle brush. Rinse, pat w/ a cloth then air dry. The only down-side is you have to make sure the glass is secure before walking with it. This was a replacement for the one my cats managed to knock the very fragile top off. (needless to say these are now off the dining room table & out of their reach, LOL)

AWFUL! Clearly a Safety Hazard
I bought this lamp for my wife as a gift. It is totally useless! The first time I poured oil into the base of the lamp the oil ran out the bottom. After cleaning up the mess I examined the lamp and saw that the glass base has a seam that has a gap in it. Clearly there is no quality control in the manufacturer of this lamp or this defect would have shown up immediately. I am 78 years old and in my entire life this is the first glass container that I encountered that leaked. Based on this defect and the fact that the product reached me as a consumer without being properly checked or inspected, I do not recommend the product or the company that manufactures and sells it.Update as of May 18, 2017: After submitting this review I submitted a report to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (Report # 20170518-D66DF-2147400414) identifying the hazards to safety related to using this product. With a leaking oil reservoir (font) it is likely that had I struck a match to light this lamp it and the oil on my counter top would have been engulfed in flames. This oil lantern is manufactured in China and imported by 21st Century, Inc. by USA Importers.

Nice little oil lamp.
It's exactly as described. Works wonderfully. Consider ordering spare wicks and a good supply of parafin. I would by these lamps in pairs they don't throw off a great deal of light.

Works great out of the box but the wick adjusting wheel ...
Works great out of the box but the wick adjusting wheel makes no change in the wick length. Now useless

This is a hazardous lamp
The media could not be loaded. If I could give this product zero stars or negative stars, I would do so. I should definitely charge century 21 about $500 because the oil spilled out as soon as I tried to fill the lamp, causing about $500 worth of damage to my vinyl collection as well as my antique table that it was sitting on. I want a replacement that has no seam issues or cracks.Instead, they want me to return this piece of broken glass to them and I don’t have time to do that so it would be wise of them to just send a replacement considering I have videoed every facet of this horrible debacle in my home. Do not buy this product if you want to live in your house and not ruin your items or burn your home down. I wish I had read the reviews first. I ought to sue them on principle.
