If this had a way to lock the handle, it would be perfect. I wanted to use it for my large saucepan that only has side handles (no pot handle). Unfortunately, its very difficult to turn the saucepan sideways while gripping the device tightly. If I could lock it it wouldn't be a problem. Unfortuantely, since it can't perform the function I need it for, it loses a couple of stars. Otherwise looks like good construction tho.

Broke in a week.

I bought them to use with my carbon steel pans and pots. What I like about this especially is the gap space between grips. When this is closed, grips are parallel which is very important at when you use it on heated steel pans that is less than 2mm thick. I like this a lot.

Have arthritis and dupytrens. Hot trays/pots are a problem. This helps.

This is very well made and feels sturdy and should last a long time. Great for removing stuff from the microwave - no more burned fingers! This is so much better quality than the bright green plastic one I bought previously. Well worth the extra money.
