The Matrix Flame candle is not a moving paper cutout flame.The flame tip is a LED light that is the most realistic looking flame that money can buy. I have tried every kind and type out there and the Matrix flame is simply the best. They have a windy and calm setting on the remote control as well as timer buttons. One control works many so you can turn them on and off even when you have them placed out of the way. The batteries last a long time because the LED flame hardly uses any power and they use D batteries which last much longer instead of AA that need to be changed more often. Mine come on for 6 hours a day and last 5 months. They are using technology far more advanced than the other candles on the market. Liown sells cheaper low tech candles so beware they must say Matrix Flame. I have 12 of these in my home 5 in the fireplace 3 on the shelf of my jet tub that act as a night light (AKA Romantic lighting) and others placed around my home. The light they give off is so warm and beautiful especially when I come home in the dark and they are already on.
