I didn't make a mistake with this purchase.
I bought this head unit due to the price for the features. NOTE: NEWER CIVICS NEED AN ANTENNA ADAPTER.Been installed for a little over a week and I've only had an issue with the steering wheel remote relay which is a separate part from the Pioneer head unit. The relay works intermittently, mostly when the car is cold, once warmed up I'm back to using the touch screen.Already watched Empire Strikes Back and Dude Where's My Car, great video quality, no lag.The head unit actually has better power than the stock head unit in my 2006 civic EX (6 speaker) premium sound package, the sound quality has improved due to installation. Very easy set up once installed.Made my car feel like pimp my ride frustration edition hit my garage but I am really pleased with the outcome. I will be doing a follow up review on this after a month.Parts I used for this item: Sorche dbl din dash kit (perfect fit, color match) Micro Bypass ALL AVH-X Video in motion interface, Metra Axxess ASWC-1 Universal Steering Wheel Control. No back up cam, I can turn my head lol.My wiring didn't match so I had to figure it out. If I saved the mapping I did I will post a picture but I have to check.I would say if you are not mechanically inclined this is not a project for you but I would recommend this product to people if they asked my opinion of it.

Very pleased, looks and sounds great!
I was looking for something that was compatible with my iPhone 6, for music and bluetooth calling, as well as something that didn't have an obnoxious look to it (buttons, shapes of buttons, colors, screen saver), and after weeks of research, settled on this. The sound is excellent! The compatibility was up to par. I can plug my iPhone in to charge, and it picks up where I left off, and navigating the iPhone's library on the touch screen is simple. That's the key word, everything is simple, no weird, absurdly long way to get anywhere in the settings, and the display, no matter what I'm using, is subtle, and not obnoxious at all. I like that it shows the album artwork as well. You can turn the screen off while in use if you want to, but I like the display. Easy to access and edit the radio stations, and nice that you have 3 pages of station presets.Only things that I would note are that while I haven't tested it for DVD playback yet (and not why I bought it), I can't testify to the video quality, though the quality of the menus and the album cover art leave a bit to be desired.Other is that scrolling through the list for songs/albums isn't as intuitive as I'd like.Still, for $200, I highly recommend it. Don't pay full retail for it though. I also installed it myself, so I saved some money there too.

Solid four stars, bluetooth audio and phone works well!
It's a good value for your money. It's not the fanciest but it's also not the most expensive. My requirements for a stereo were: 1) touchscreen 2) hookup to my existing backup camera 3) bluetooth audio streaming and phone calls 4) ~$200 price point. This Pioneer satisfied all of my requirements and with the additional Toyota specific wiring harnesses, it was easy to install.Pros:- Price; at ~$200, it's not a cheapo off brand touchscreen radio but it's not going to make you broke either- Bluetooth works extremely well- Touchscreen is responsive- Backup camera hook up is convenient- This model was auto detected by the Axxess steering wheel control module to retain the factory audio buttons on my steering wheel- Screen dims when you turn your lights on- Physical buttons (along the left side) are responsive- No lag when changing radio stations or between songs when listening to my iPhone via bluetooth- Very quick switching from music screen to backup camera, and back again.. some head units take a while to switch to the backup camera which would be a deal breaker for me, but this one is very fast- Works great with the micro bypass to allow video while driving or certain bluetooth functions like the dial pad which is usually locked out if the car is in motionCons:- Annoying two line " Caution - images may be reversed" nanny message when using the backup camera, which gets in the way of the actual image! Using the factory head unit and an aftermarket camera in a 2013 Corolla has a small one liner at the bottom that says "Check your surroundings" which doesn't get in the way. Pioneer decided to make their nanny message two lines and at the top of the image, not the bottom. It's not a deal breaker but it interferes with the functionality of the reverse camera.- Slight flicker when text changes on the screen, like when getting FM radio song info as it scrolls on the screen. Not that noticeable and I don't notice it when streaming audio via bluetooth. I'm not sure if it's because I spliced into the power and ground for my Axxess steering wheel controls.- Not much customization, buttons don't dim along with the screen when you turn your lights onAll in all, I'm happy. As I mentioned at the start of this review, this unit met all of my needs/wants. Talking on the phone is illegal in my state so without a hands-free system or headset, I just wasn't using my phone in the car. Now I can make quick calls. The bluetooth calling works great! I'm used to the factory touch screen in a 2013 Corolla and 2015 Camry, and this Pioneer compares favorably. I'll update this review if anything changes but I am really enjoying my new Pioneer!
