The perfect gift for someone who loves Nambe!
The tray is classy and beautiful. It comes in a lovely Nambe box and is in pristine condition.I couldn’t be happier. I am sure my daughter- in- law will love it.

Wooden cutting board slides into the the tray.
The tray is attractive, but does not seem as finished or sophisticated as other Nambe products. My main criticism there is that I wish that the finish on the metal was more matte and less shiny. The wooden cutting board has grooves carved along its sides, and it slides onto rails in the metal tray. I assume that this is for ease of cleaning. The board slides on securely, and it does not move until you decide to remove it. Overall, a nice enough tray that I intended to fit into a specific space, which it does, so I'm keeping it.

Strange design: big hole instead of a rim -- hard to see in photo
Nambe makes beautiful things, so I was really surprised by this. I had intended to use it as a nice serving platter for roasts. I thought it would provide a nice wooden carving surface, with an elegant metal rim to carry and catch juices. Basically, I thought it would be like an elegantly-shaped baking sheet with a wood insert that sits on topBut the photo is misleading (or, at least, confusing). The metal part is actually a rim only: there is a big hole in the center with a few pegs that hold the wood in place. This means there's an air gap between the wood and the metal, so things like juices or crumbs will leak out onto the table. (In the picture, the whitish strip on the right-hand end between the wood and metal is actually a hole, not a reflecting metal surface.) Given this, I'm not actually sure what this tray would be useful for.

Flimsy and broken
Nambe is an absolute favorite of mine but this piece was flimsy and the bottom was broken (ie wood part was no attached to metal part) and could not function as a tray. Amazon took it back immediately and refunded my money.
