Amazing product! Not as cooling as hoped, but more comfortable than I can believe, and I sleep on a new, extremely comfortable memory foam mattress. So while it doesn't do the job I'd hoped for, there's no way I'm returning it. It's like having another new bed! The gussets are good and deep, there's no off-gassing whatsoever, and the bamboo is, indeed, cool to the touch. It just doesn't remain cool once body heat is concentrated in one area.

I have been using this for over a year and have washed a couple of times. It has maintained shape and comfort. We have a mattress that is a bit too hard for us and tried a memory foam topper which didn't work. We tried this mattress cover and have been very happy with the results!

Updated review 1/6/2016: I have now purchased THREE of these mattress toppers for the beds in my house! The original topper which I reviewed below, is still fabulous. The only issue I have had with it, is that it got a couple of minor tears in the washer. However, I do not blame this on the topper itself. We have one of the newer high-efficiency washers, and any time we wash large/bulky items, the washer is really hard on them. My husband has some sort of fixation on washing the mattress topper every time we wash the sheets. (I tell him he shouldn't do this.....just vacuum it.) So this topper has been washed more times than I care to count. That said, aside from a couple of small rips, it's still perfect. The padding is still just as fluffy and luxurious as when it was new. With this topper, I actually like my bed at home better than the beds at high-end hotels...I seriously look forward to getting into my bed each night! Also, I should not that we have not had any rips or tears in the 2nd and 3rd toppers we bought. They do NOT get washed all the time.Wow - this is by far the best mattress pad I have ever owned. During the past five years I have purchased three mattresses and at least as many mattress pads in my quest for a good night's rest. I recently found a mattress that I really like, but I still had my old mattress pad which was lumpy, hot and uncomfortable. After much research, we decided to purchase this bamboo mattress pad from Exceptional Sheets, hoping it would be as comfortable, cool, and durable as many of the reviews indicated. We received the mattress pad within a couple of days of ordering, and it was packaged well. I was happy to note that the pad had not been crushed into a tiny box, but instead was packaged in a large box which allowed it to come right out of the box fluffy and ready to use. I was also so interested to see the personal note from the company inside the box. And much to my surprise, I discovered that the mattress pad was manufactured in my childhood hometown - another plus!Upon removing the pad from the box and placing on the bed, it was immediately evident it was well-made. Much better made than the previous three pads I had owned, which all were at similar price points. The stretchy part which fits around the mattress was of superior quality compared to others, and the pad itself felt heavenly.I have owned this mattress pad about a month now, and it is incredibly comfortable. Others reviewers are correct in that this mattress pad really does seem to help keep you cool at night! It is heavenly soft, but not the type where you feel you are sinking so far down in it that it makes you hot. It is soft and comfortable, and makes an already good mattress even better.I would highly recomend this mattress pad to anyone hoping to improve the comfort of their current bed - this one will do the job!

product is great and customer service even better. They contacted me few days after purchase to make syre I was happy. Even though the product is very confortable.... it's not like sleeping on a cloud (or people smoked it...)no smell, just plain comfortMy mistake?: chosing the small model, if you want a better comfort, get the thick version of this one or do as I did: buy a memory foam to put under this, both works very well together

I would have given this five stars but for the somewhat delicate outer fabric, and the fact that I can't wash it in my regular sized washing machine (it's quite puffy) so I have to take it to the laundromat. BUT it is the most comfortable mattress topper that I have ever slept on, bar none. Before we bought this, I would literally wake up with one of my limbs asleep and a sore back in the morning. We have a great mattress and it's comfortable, but it's hard to get the right combination of firmness and give required for good back health. This topper literally feels like a cloud, without the heat and stifling sinking into the bed associated with most quilted toppers. We are both hot sleepers, and this thing actually doesn't hold on to the heat but cools off quite quickly. Best part of this whole purchase was the customer service: When we first received our new topper, we noticed it had a pull in the outermost layer, and were concerned that it would tear when we washed it (which you have to do, eventually). So I called customer service and inquired about sending it back, but the man I spoke to said not to bother and that they would just send me another one, as they wanted me to be satisfied. Unbelievable! He apologized for the flaw and said that just happens sometimes as they're handmade (though I've found quite a few flaws in items that were manufactured, and not handmade), so hopefully I would be satisfied with a new one. The new one was perfect! Until the cat walked on it before we'd put the sheets on... to be clear, she was literally only walking with claws retracted. But the outer fabric is just that delicate, probably a by-product of the wizardry required to make the thing actually stay cool at night. This is unfortunate, and hopefully this weakness could be corrected one day, but I couldn't otherwise be happier with this purchase. Best ~100$ I ever spent. *And I never notice the pulls once we have sheets on it, it's merely aesthetic.
