Great little amp for the money
For the money, I'm not sure how anyone could complain about this amp. I installed this one to replace my old kenwood amp, which finally bit the dust. This one was simple to install and it very nicely powers my 10 inch sub and two 6.5 inch waketower speakers to go along with the house speakers in my boat which run through the head unit. It provides plenty of power. Clear and LOUD. I think anyone who gives this thing a negative review must not be thinking clearly about the price of this thing. Are there better marine amps out there? Of course, for 6 or 7 times the price of this one. Even if I have to replace this thing every two years, its less than 100 bucks! My only knock on it is that it doesn't have an input for my remote subwoofer control.

Unbeatable bang for the buck
I was looking to do a budget stereo system upgrade on our new boat. After doing a lot of research I decided to buy the Pyle PLMRA420 amp along with 4 Pyle PLMR62 6.5” 2 way speakers. Including wiring I have a bit over $200 (amp was on sale for $100 and the speakers were $35.98 per pair) and a few hours of my time wrapped up in the system. The sound is excellent, the price point can’t be beat and the overall visuals of how the amp and speakers look is awesome. I’m going to add a set of wake tower speakers in the next week or so to complete my system. At that point I’ll run the four 6.5” speakers off of channels 1&2 and run the wake tower units off channels 3&4. I could probably leave the system the way it is now and be completely happy with the sound it puts out but I really to finish things off with a set of LED wake tower speakers. Take your time setting the amp up. It’s well worth the few extra minutes to get great sound quality in the end at an absolute bargain price point.Overall great bang for the buck.

Great amp as long as you set it up right
Been using it for a month working it hard on a 8 speaker system. I see complaints about the amp blowing up. If you do not know how to match impedance (ohms) keeping it at 2-4 or 8 ohms (depending on configuration) you will blow up any amp no matter what the quality. You cant be over 8 or below 4 in no bridged mode and between 4 and 2 for bridged mode. I say the folks that blew their amps up did not follow the proper wiring of the speakers to maintain the proper load (ohms).I am running (4) 8 ohm speakers on the front two channels. I wired them in parallel bringing the load to 4 ohms on each channel (bridged mode). I my rear two channels I have 2 dual coil sub woofers the coils are wired in series bringing the subs to 4 ohms each for the two rear sub channels I am using in the back. Properly adjusted the cross over so my sub gets no highs and my fronts get no lows for great sound. Adjust signal to noise ration by turning the amp gains to zero go to your head unit and max volume out. Bring gain up until you hear distortion and back it down a little. If you do this you will not blow a speaker. A blown speak will blow an amp because it can create a dead short. Follow these instructions and you will love it.

Buyer Beware! Amp burned out after 10 months - horrible customer service.
I purchased this amp as a upgrade for a factory installed system. At 10 months after the professional install, I smelled that burning electronics smell and all sound stopped. I took it back to the shop that installed it, they told me the amp was burned out, no recovery. I checked the pyleaudio dot com website for information; there is no warranty or return information I could find. I eventually searched Google for a phone number and found the following information:Customer Support: 1-888-318-7953Customer Support Toll: 1-718-535-1800Fax: 1-718-236-2400The Pyle customer service line is answered by Sound Around USA. This is the parent company of Pyle. You have to press 2 for the customer service department then press 1 for technical support, 2 for warranties, 3 for parts, 4 for billing or 5 for orders. I selected warranties and eventually spoke to a person who rattled off instructions about mailing the amp back to Pyle with a $15 money order so they could "evaluate and repair" the amp. I asked about an RMA, support ticket number, or if he could email the instructions to me, he said everything was on the website, I should go there and hung up. And I am back to where I started.I purchased this amp because of price point and all-weather durability, and other people appear to be happy with this amp. And I now understand the phrase, "you get what you pay for". While it performed adequately for 10 months, I will not ever buy another Pyle product because of this kind of customer support. My recommendation is to steer clear of Pyle and spend a few dollars more for a more reliable product - JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate, Kicker are all lower cost alternatives with much better customer service.

Good Value Amplifier ! Smaller Input terminals make wiring power cables difficult
I purchased this for my Lund 14 ft Aluminum Boat to go along with my Boss Audio MGR350B head unit and 2x Pyle 75w speakers, 2x 100 watt 6.5" speakers. I was satisfied with the stock performance of the speakers and head unit but the speakers just wouldn't get loud enough to hear when I was running the boat on full throttle. After installing the Pyle Amplifier I noticed an immediate gain in volume, bass, and overall performance. There are only 3 things I would change about the Amplifier. The power in terminals are very small and I had difficulty finding the proper terminal connectors to go with the 4AWG wire I was using ( MFG recommends min 6 AWG wire). The terminals are just too small to be connecting wiring this large. I had to take a 4AWG 1/4" Lug connector and slightly grind down the sides to get it to fit in the slot. The Amplifier is also fairly large in size and I found the lights on top of the unit to be a bit distracting and I wish I could turn them off because at night they can be very annoying. Also, the instruction booklet indicates that all the mounting screws and hardware are included but I didn't receive anything in the box. Other than those very minor issues ( the power input design being the worst issue) I would highly recommend this unit to anyone. Be sure to read the instructions very carefully and make sure you're using the proper size speakers and wiring them correctly otherwise you can damage your speakers/amp.
