EXCELLENT - But Not for Magnetic Mount
EXCELLENT CASE, BUT NO MAGNETIC DASHBOARD USE!BE AWARE, INCOMPATIBLE WITH MAGNETIC DASHBOARD MOUNT!If you plan a magnetic mount in your car, this case will not work well. You cannot stick or epoxy the metal plate to the outside back of this case, it has a grooved surface (the design of the lines) that the sticky metal plate wont stick to, if you epoxy the plate to the outer rubber, it will flop around and deform the rubber shell. You also cannot stick the metal plate inside because the dashboard magnet manufacturers don't make the magnets strong enough AND the outer rubber shell is loose under and around the camera/fingrprint opening on the back, the outer rubber shell will be raised out too much.I currently use a OTTER BOX COMMUTER and I dropped the phone like 10 times... Perfect condition. I wanted a beefier case and a belt clip, but that's not gonna happen. I bought a second LG G5 so I now need two cases, guess I'll be getting another COMMUTER...which is a GREAT case!The COMMUTER had a reverse design, rubber inside, hard plastic outside, so I epoxied the magnetic plate to the COMMUTER. Perfect magnetic mount. Now, if I can only get the magnetic dash mounts to STAY on the vent.I did some glue, but it came off, need to re-invent the glueing of the mag mount to the vent.ALSO, I disassembled my dashboard to COMPLETELY BLOCK any HEAT or AC from exiting the two center vents using foam, duct tape and black cloth. HEAT and COLD AC will RUIN your phone !!

Need tough, this is it
I was thinking about buying a different case as this one is pretty chunky and can be difficult to push into your pocket due to the rubber exterior. I forgot my phone on the roof of my car and it tumbled down a state highway at 60 mph with no damage just a couple scuffs on the corners that you can only see if you look really hard. Needless to say I'll be staying with the defender considering it saved me from having to buy a new phone.

This case is a all around great case and the price is good to. There is a kickstand on the belt clip, has a built in screen protector and can handle drops with ease.
