High performance!
I think this router deserves better rating especially for its price (I got it for $15). The world of wireless is so complicated with too many variables that sometime people just blame the poor performance on the router.First of all, about the performance, this router together with the TP-Link high gain wireless adapter at 30ft with a few walls (wood frame with drywall) and a floor in between I get consistent 9-11MBytes/second actual throughput. That's pretty much 100Mbits/second, the limit is actually due to the 100Mps LAN port which is how I connect one of the computer (and a WD TV Live) to the router. The other computer of course is connected to the TP-Link high gain wireless adapter. Streaming bluray HD video is not an issue here, you actually only need about 5MBytes/second top for that. With that said, the wireless adapter play a very important role. I used another generic brand 300mps wireless adapter and only get 2-3MBytes/second max and not very consistent either. With everything the same except the wireless adapter, you could rule out the router as being the cause. Also even with the TP-Link high gain wireless adapter, the high throughput is on achieved if I position it at a certain angle. The link rate (view under Task Manager) when you change the angle changes dramatically from 300mps down to 1mps; all at the same distance!I use this router for one purpose only and that is to stream HD video from my laptop upstairs to the WD TV Live downstairs. And for that it works perfectly! By the way the WD TV Live internal wi-fi is not fast enough for high bit rate HD video, that's why I need the router, but that's another review.

Don't Waste Your Money:
I purchased this router (N300R) to cover more areas in my house. I had purchased Networks N150 WiFi Router several years ago and it was reliable, but wanted to cover a larger area. After installing the N300 Router, it frequently disconnected throughout the day and required re-setting of the router. I finally became so frustrated that I re-installed the old router and tried to return the new router for a refund. Unfortunately I waited too long to try and return the product and was declined. The old router still is working well and I purchased an extender to cover a larger area. Don't waste your money on the N300R model.

Can't beat the price!
Plug & play! I've had the N150 version for over 5 years traveling through South & Central America. Served me well! Thought I try this one as it was actually cheaper than the N150! Set it up at my friends house in just a couple minutes, taking the time to change the SSID to something cool! Broadcast 4&5 bars throughout the 2000 sq ft condo with no problem! Even reaches outside down to the pool area!Recomended either one!

My brother has been using this for his house and recommended it. I bought it
My old linksys router was having problem keeping the wireless network up. I didn't want to spend too much getting a new router. My brother has been using this for his house and recommended it. I bought it, very easy to set up. It has been working fine since I set it up. I like that it has the power button where I can just turn it on and off instead of having to remove the power cable as my old linksys. No issues so far.

It's okay, but definitely not 5 stars
I'm not sure where all the 5 star reviews came from. The router does work, but it's slower than my old router. I also have a very difficult time with it printing to printer that is on the network. It does eventually print, but I get lots of messages that the computer and printer aren't communicating, whether I'm sitting right next to the router or to the printer (and have full signal strength to the router). Luckily I don't need to do much printing at home and I can do most of that at the office. For the lightning deal price, it's okay, but I guess you get what you pay for. I'm sure this will drive me nuts in a few months and I'll have to replace it.

Its OK
I read the reviews and was made really leery but thank goodness its been pretty good for me when I want to watch Netflix via Xbox Live and its great when I wifi via my cell phone but for some reason does not work great with my laptop always have to reset the router I have tried looking into this and just figured only time it does not bug out is when I am exclusively using the laptop meaning no moble phone wifi not Xbox live etc. that is kind of punkish but then again it was a cheap buy- It works but it is what it is!

Works for me
Didn't have to do much to set this up and it works wonders out in my office. Ran a wire out there and it works great with all the office equipment that I have!

Happy with this router!
I first saw this at an electronic store, but decided to buy it later. When I went back there were no more. So I decided to go on a hunt to find it on amazon and found the same router here. I ordered it hoping it would be the same as the one I saw at the electronic store. When it arrived it was the same brand and item that I have searching for and I was delighted. The set up was super easy and fast with just a few simple steps and works great!
