Good Way To Mix It Up
I completed 1 round of P90X and by the end it was getting a little bit repetitive so I decided to pick up P90X+ so I could mix it up a little bit. The package includes a 90 day workout program which is based on using these 5 workouts with a few of the originals thrown in that I used for 30 days before it also got a little bit too repetitive for me. There's also a P90X/P90X+ hybrid schedule on the Team Beachbody website that you can use which incorporates more of the original disks. All of the workouts are very fast paced, so they all kind of feel like a cardio workout. Steve Edwards (the Beachbody guy that designs most of these workouts) said that it was built with the goal of "ripping you up" not gaining mass, so if that's what you're looking for this might be a good way to go. That said, they are a bit short (~40 min each) so you may want to add some other calorie burning activities to your day (running, walking, extra pushups or pullups, or maybe a disk or two of 10 Minute Trainer) if you really want to get shredded. And, of course, diet is also a huge factor as well.My results were good but not that spectacular from a weight/fat standpoint: I'm a 25 year old guy and I went from ~144 lbs and 11.1% body fat to ~142 lbs and 10.8% body fat in the 30 days I used the P90X+ program. The thing that was REALLY awesome about these workouts is that there are a lot of opportunities to work on your pullups. I went from being able to do 2 100% unassisted pullups to being able to do 4 in 30 days, which is not too shabby.I'm now doing a program that is very similar to the original schedule but I still use the abs/core disk from p90X+ regularly and I also throw in the interval and kenpo disks occasionally as well. It's difficult for me to fit the other two in just because of my goals, but they are also good workouts.

Speedier, different focus
I did the original P90X and gained a lot of upper body strength. The one issue with the original P90X is that, after weeks and weeks of doing the videos, you start to realize how much Tony talks and how much time you're wasting -- standing there with your weights -- waiting for him to start the exercise. What I love about the + videos is that he cuts most of that out. It's straight to the exercise and he barrels through. It's a little disorienting in the beginning, as you don't know how to do the exercises at first, but it's so nice knowing that I can be finished with the workout in 30 minutes, instead of 60 for most of the regular P90X DVDS.The other thing that's changed is the focus isn't on reps, but choosing a weight so you can do the exercise for a certain amount of time. So, instead of 8 - 10, you're aiming to do as many reps as you can in say, 60 seconds. It takes a shift in thinking, and I had to scale back on the weight a good bit from regular P90X. I did actually prefer the isolation of muscles groups in the original -- I'm not so much a fan of the Total Body workout in +. Also, the intervals DVD broke as I tried to pull it out of the packaging. After a long chat with the company's online support, they sent us a free replacement. Except, they sent plyometrics from the original P90X, not the intervals DVD.

Life after P90X and Insanity
I absolutely love these workout DVDs!!! I am on month 6 of my P90X/Insanity hybrid routine and this was exactly what I needed to kick my workout up a notch. I've been using these for a month now. The workouts are more synergistics focused and I feel my core engaged in this. A key note is that P90X Plus is meant to supplement your P90X routine not to replace it. In line with Tony's philosophy of muscle confusion, you want to change it up and bring it. I'm not sure why the reviews below state that the videos are under par and the routines don't delivery like the original. The DVD quality is very high. And the workouts might not seem to delivery like the original if you are using it as an independent workout. Use it as a supplement to the original. For those without a pullup bar, you will need one for abs/core, total body, and upper. There really isn't a substitute for the exercises that use the pullup bar. Abs plateau easily and the Abs/core plus routine really engages your core with the pullup bar and is a great addition to any ab routine. The DVDs comes with a schedule that supplements P90X. If you really need to kick it up another notch, google the P90X/Insanity schedule and then supplement it with P90X Plus. Bottom line, this DVD set comes highly recommended from me.
