Just the right size for home and sturdy

This thing is a BEAST! ....in a good way. I am very impressed with this ladder, incredibly stable. Lots of nooks to store/hold tools at the top, all very handy. The magnetic holder is also a great idea. Coming from a ladder with narrow steps the wider steps on the Dewalt ladders really do make a difference, you can stand much longer and more comfortably on these wider steps vs others.As others have mentioned, why did I spend double or even triple the price of a 'normal' ladder? Stability, strength and safety. I weight about 225lbs far less than the rated capacity but safety, safety, safety. I don't need any broken bones or worse from a fall off a ladder, I would rather pay a little more now than alot more later! Thanks Dewalt!Update: I have been using this ladder a few months now and couldn't be happier its tough and stable. The magnetic portion on the top is a BRILLIANT idea! I use this all the time, this feature alone is worth the extra money. The magnet is surprisingly strong!

This is a great, well-built step ladder. I ordered it for my father as a birthday present and I am impressed not only with the ladder, but how Amazon shipped it to me. I originally ordered a similar ladder from a competing company, and it came to my house as is. There was no protective anything. It was just as is. It looked like it had been through a tremendous battle. It was covered in various colors of paint from rubbing aginst things, several dings and scratches. Needless to say not acceptable for the money I paid for it, especially as a present. This ladder came in a box, and was packaged with paper to protect it during shipping. What a difference! It was pristine. I have an old 4 foot Werner step ladder that I have had for 15 years, and I am seriously considering forking over the cash for one of these beauties.

I took a gamble ordering this ladder. The shipping was extremely tough on the ladder. Ladder came all scratched up, DeWALT labels pealing off and the shipping labels were all over one side. It came without a box. Strapping tape was wrapped around the ladder to keep the legs from separating. That was the only shipping feature.At this point I plan on driving 300 miles to a DeWALT store for this ladder.Btw, I recently ordered and received a 4 foot DeWALT ladder. It came in a box and was in great condition.

Nice litte ladder

For the price of 1 of these, I could of went to Home Depot and bought 4 or more of little Werners when they were on sale. So why did I choose this? Safety, sturdy, and no matter how you abuse it, it doesn't have electric mechanisms so it's unlikely to break any time soon. Also, I'm not that heavy (190) but 6 ft. As a go to ladder instead of dragging taller and heavier ones, this is good for me. Ask yourself...how often does a ladder break? When it does, is it the result of poor workmanship? Consider this along safety and that's what motivated me. The other motivation was almost falling off a cheaper ladder.BTW, I do not work for Dewalt, just a fan who tells it like I see it. I really wanted to like this ladder. It seems very well built in terms of sturdiness, has a good weight rating for those of us who need that and is a good intermediate size for those of us who just need it for around the house. Problem is, the legs were not square to the ground so it wobbles. In receiving it, it's absolutely filthy like it has been sitting outside somewhere and while it probably wasn't, it appeared used. I kept trying to decide if I should return it or see if I can live with it and finally I decided today to return it. From a safety perspective, I can't trust it because of the wobbling. I probably am being kind giving it 3 stars but I do think it's a good ladder if it just didn't have these issues and I didn't want to discourage people from taking a chance on it.

Nicely constructed but rungs for feet are not very deep. It you have a large foot it could be a problem. Also, it does not seem as stable as it could have been made.
