Gullor Advanced Fountain Pen Jinhao 650 Black with Real Redwood 18kgp Nib Medium

This is a beautiful, nicely-writing pen! I get compliments on it a lot, at work.The redwood is gorgeous. The nib is smooth and puts down a sufficient but not too heavy flow of ink. I like the included ink converter, too. I use bottled inks in this pen. But it would also take cartridges if you want to do that. Be aware, though, that the pen comes with neither any ink or any cartridges; it does come with an ink converter.The size and heft of this pen are amazingly comfortable for writing. It is a larger pen than most of my other pens, and a lot heavier, but for me this is an advantage. I like the feel of the weight and size of this pen. It writes well, as a result.

Writes okay, pretty to look at, but a little too fat for me. It feels a little awkward to do any kind of letter writing. I almost feel I am writing with a fat marker instead. The nib is smooth and if you post it when writing it is very heavy and unbalanced. The area where you need to hold it to write has a drop off too drastic where you have to end up holding it very close to the nib to feel comfortable in writing. Again, pretty to look at but not great to write with.

It writes fine. neither exceptionally well nor with any serious issues. its a somewhat bold line, not 'fine' by my standards and somewhat bolder than 'medium' too. its a very short pen without the cap posted. it balances well that way but its uncomfortably thick and heavy. with the cap posted it becomes quite heavy and ungainly to write with. not quite my style

Pen is simply too heavy from my writing style.

The pen is very well balanced and writes well. I used the cartridge and cleaned the pen first with water and soapy water as instructed on the web and the pen writes beautifully.

Economical purchase

Came in great condition and the redwood looks even better in front of you than in the picture. The nib writes smoothly and feels quite solid in the hand.
