How do they compare to the Chinese version?

I have owned a Chinese 50s Strat and a 50s Tele. The Tele wasn't bad but I didn't bond with it. The Strat was a truly excellent guitar, and I regret that I had to sell it. I recently decided to buy another one. Tried a Chinese 50s Strat and an Indonesian 50s. Everyone can research the specs for themselves so I won't repeat them. In a nutshell, the Indonesian was much heavier, had a thicker neck and far less sophisticated sounding pickups. It also had pure white pickup covers and knobs, which looked cheap compared to the Chinese guitar's aged white. The decision was easy and I went home with the Chinese Strat. Yes it's a small sample but my findings are the same as those others have found and reported online. You might prefer the changes. I didn't, and trying the guitars back-to-back the two felt and sounded very different. Hope this helps someone.

Is this model American or Mexican manufactured?

I have the white version. It says "Crafted in China " on the back of the head. Great guitar for the price.

Is this like the mexican one? With the strings feel like theyre flat against the fretboard? Easy to play rhythm on

Not played a Mexican telecaster but the Squier 50’s Classic Vibe guitar was nicely set up by Rich Tone and strings were as you ask, close to the fretboard, didn’t need to change intonation or anything. Played really nicely and I’ve used it for rhythm and lead stuff and for me, so far, so good. Would recommend this guitar to anyone.!
