Something isn't right about the high reviews here. I'm telling you...these erasers are TERRIBLE. Just putting them on your pencil and leaving them on your desk in a holder for a week...they crack out...even without use. When I say they crack out, I'm not even talking about just the bottom where these types of erasers often fail. They crack out in the center/middle. I don't know what kind of material this is...but it is brittle and dry. Please don't waste your money.

I purchased these closer to the end of the year, hoping for a cheap bag of erasers to make it to the end of the school year. I teach first grade, and try as I might colorful erasers tend to attract and distract, so I wasn't up for paying too much money. So in that department, these are wonderful. They're not the strongest erasers I've seen, and arguably not idea for long-term elementary school sustainability. But if you're looking for erasers that will do the job until a child eats them, these are great. No stress, no guilt.

So they're erasers. But I'll tell you a story about using them and then you can decide for yourself if you want to buy them. I was writing something in pencil and I made a mistake. I wrote the word "stick" and the k at the end looked more like an h. I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to say "STITCH" and didn't know how to spell it when I was actually trying to say "STICK" in the first place. So...I used one of these erasers...and I erased the poorly written K and replaced it with a better looking K. I was much happier with my penmanship this time around and no one was the wiser. I guess these fellas did their job. 5 stars.

They erase fine but after a few uses the top tears just leaving a ring of eraser around the pencil. I have had to purchase different erasers.

I never have enough erasers so these are perfect for keeping on hand. I worked with a lady once that broke off all the erasers on her pencils and used them to cushion the back of post earrings when she was on the phone--she could have really used these for all the pencils she had that no longer had erasers. I usually use up the erasers on pencils; these are perfect replacements.

These erasers are what I have been needing. The others I have purchased haven't been up to par materials wise and they were always floppy and flimsy. When I would need to erase, those other ones wouldn't get the job done. These are the ones I have always liked! Sturdy and firm and does better than the others.
