Is this good for car tires

In September 2019, purchased this for maintaining tire pressure on three vehicles. Worked great and quiet in the garage. In January 2021, while adding a couple of psi to a car tire, motor made a different sound and a burnt smell filled the small garage. Warranty is one year. Kept it unplugged when not in use. Never moved it from its place by the wall because of a long air hose. Drained tank after every use. Would not recommend for maintaining tire pressure. Died after less than a dozen uses.

Does this compressor use generic hose couplings or proprietary Makita couplings?

The Makita MAC100Q compressor has a quick-connect coupler. The quick-connect coupler accepts the standard 1/4-in NPT Male quick-connect fitting plug with a Female screw end to match any standard air hose (Male). Look at a typical air accessory kit such as the Campbell-Hausfeld 17-piece kit sold on Amazon.

Is the .7 cfm the free air flow @ 90 psi or the cfm displacement?

It makes .7 cubic feet of air at 90

Can I use it for a pressure tank?

To fill a small pressure tank yes it will take a while to fill made for small nail guns
