Well... I built my first computer in 1962, got my first computer job in 1968, and ended up making a lot of money as a computer technical consultant. I'm pretty good. But even I can't make it do anything with no manual! Oh, there's a manual. In Chinese or something. Lots of pages. But ENGLISH? There is a LITTLE folded sheet with quick start info for a couple functions. Which don't work, so go figure...It produces a WiFi signal. I CAN connect to it. With an android phone I can see a folder and even write a file to it.That is IT!!! It does nothing else whatsoever.PROSYou CAN turn it on!It has a 10 amp hour battery. (Big wup. I have lots of batteries.)The battery CAN be charged.It produces a WiFi signal.CONS - Despite advertised claims...It is NOT A HOTSPOT.It is NOT A REPEATER.I can NOT use ANY attached USB device.It does NOT work with an attached USB external hard drive.It does NOT work with a flash drive.It DOES NOT have a SD card reader.The LAN port DOES NOT WORK.I cannot use my PC with it AT ALL.This is useless junk. With a useless foreign language manual, it is impossible to use. Thank heavens for Amazon and their 30 day free return policy. Thanks to that all I've lost is my time and effort in trying to set this turkey up. THANK YOU AMAZON!I wasted my time.Don't waste yours.

The 'many in one' concept works well for smart 'phones' and, routers too, are now incorporating NAS-like and media server capabilities and, as in this case, some attempt to take the concept even further . The MGTec device, provided at a significant discount as a 'for review' item, is not only a router/hotspot that has the ability to share USB-connected storage devices and SD cards but it can even charge your phone if it must.In practice, it comes down to a poorly written English manual and to answering the 'do I really need this, given what it takes to make it work' question. The product, at least the unit I received for review, seems to be aimed at the Chinese market with anything 'in English' as an afterthought. While not a computer genius, I've worked in IT for, let's say 'decades' and I can set up half a dozen routers before breakfast if I must. However, I had major issues setting up this one. In fact, even though I did see it advertising itself as a Wi-Fi network, it wasn't able to properly connect so it's possible that I'm doing something wrong but it's hard to tell because the manual is just bare-bones.My other thought is that, even if it all worked as advertised, would it be worth it? It's good to have a backup charger for your phone but it's also true that much slimmer options are available. The storage sharing feature is nice but many routers support this already and there are many elegant solutions to sharing 'stuff' ranging from cloud storage to media servers and so forth.I hope that the makers produce a good English manual and packaging at a minimum if they are serious about playing in the US market and then they find some compelling reasons for someone to actually want such a device.
