Well designed
I've only used this with Evernote Plus and in standalone (writing on paper) mode. I already had Evernote Plus to use on my Sony U750P, which allows inking on the touchscreen. So why did I buy this? Because it's instant-on. Waiting for a PC to start up is a chore for entering little things.Sorry, haven't used it as a Tablet, nor used any of the bundled software, so can't speak to those features. Have had zero problems, though the USB connection is not recognized properly on USB ports on my computer's docking station--it sees something but doesn't know what it is. But when I connect to the computer's USB slot, the Cyberpad always gets recognized.I appreciate the thought they put into making this simple but complete. Nice buttons that are pretty obvious in their functions, battery life indicators for the pad and the pen, generous inclusion of the right batteries (NiMH for the pad which uses batteries quickly, alkaline for the pen which uses batteries slowly) and a good charger (indicator light for when it's done charging, and smart enough to then trickle charge), an indicator on the LCD of whether the current file/page is blank or not (I've screwed up several times by not paying attention and wrote on top of previous notes), a pen icon indicator on the LCD of when the pen is sending to the pad. Nice zippered portfolio, too, though it doesn't fit spare batteries and charger (or at least it appears that you'd scrunch too much and possibly damage the pad if you stuffed them in).I haven't had a need for the SD slot, as the built-in memory is quite enough, but it's nice to have the possibility to use an SD card for transferring notes if something were to go wrong with the USB connection (or maybe Windows Vista won't work with the Adesso driver?).You'll have to download the manual from adesso's site, because the one on the CD won't let you write to disk--a pain to load a CD just to look up a function. The pen is also a bit fat for me.In the Evernote forum, a couple of people have damaged their pens because they thought they'd have to push hard to get signal through all that paper (I have maybe 40 sheets of paper on average). Not necessary, there's a simple contact that the refill makes when you write. So I've been careful to be gentle.I like it, no problems, regular paper, regular writing (though my line and word spacing is more than usual to help Evernote's handwriting recognition). And thanks to the reviewer below, GradStudent, for telling us how to make this work with OneNote, which makes it more versatile.

Don't waste your money like I did.
I purchased the Cyberpad 8.5x11 digital Notepad with the expectation that I would be able to digitize my sketches and notes I made at work. Unfortunately the product did not live up to my expectations. The first unit that I received did not function, the usb connection to the pad was defective (the connector would not insert all the way hone). I returned it and received very promptly a new unit which at least functioned. As far as being functional that is another story. I proceed to try to use the it in either using the memory in the pad itself or using it directly connected to the computer. Either way the unit produced images that were useless. The lines that look fine on the paper pad were incomplete or missing in the digital version. Drawing a straight line was impossible even with the help of a straight edge. I let a friend try to use it and he had similar unsatifactory results. Unless this performance is a function of this manufacturer's design, I would say that this is one technology that is not ready for 'Prime Time'.

Poor quality and usage model is questionable
I bought this Cyberpad originally to use it as a notebook for work. Well, the product came in defective - usb interface didn't work. (I ended up returning it to Amazon for refund.) And then I found the usage model very questionable. 1) have to keep track of the page numbers so the physical pages and the electronic pages are in sync - not intuitive, especially if you need to tear off/retire the pages. 2) the pad is very bulky - didn't feel like carrying it around. I imaging this system is probably good for survey people or jobshop people who needs to fill out the forms but I don't see it being used as an electronic notebook.

An OK tool, but pay attention to your pages!
I've had the Cyberpad for over a month and took it on a 9 day business trip and used it to take numerous notes and draw diagrams.I am a SharePoint consultant/trainer so I have to be able to capture requirements, and take and share notes or my project is not likely to succeed.Additionally I teach folks how to use SharePoint and often get questions that require a little research to properly answer or even gain a new way of thinking about a problem so I purchased the Cyberpad to take notes to remind me to follow up with a student, or to make changes to my lesson plan or whatever.chaostheorem http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A25DM4I7U139XB/ref=cm_cr_dp_pdp wrote a very detailed review including what comes with, etc so I won't rehash.EDITS: I used the Cyberpad for a little over two weeks on a daily basis on average approximately 10 hrs per day.I tried it again because I hate paying Livescribe's inflated prices for ink and paper - I have to say my opinion has not changed. Not automatically creating a new page is just too big of a hurdle to jump. When I am furiously scribling notes, I just don't have the brain power to spend remembering to create a new page when I flip the paper page!I am sticking with my LiveScribe, although I have to use special paper (Buy from Microsoft Store or something don't pay $8.95 shipping for 3 note pads!!!), it is more portable and I don't have to worry about accidentally overwriting my work!My requirements for digital note taking:1. Portable, no wires2. Transfer to computer/device3. Upload to 3rd party toolsPros:1. Nice case - provides excellent protection, has places to hold pens, business cards, etc2. Included OCR software actually worked really well on a hastily scribbled note, but I didn't go through the training process to improve.3. Install smooth4. Pen/mouse function works but takes some getting used to5. Captures notes well**6. Rechargeable batteries included!7. USB cable included - good length!Cons1. Heavy while in case2. ** YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER TO CREATE NEW PAGE when you start on a new page on your paper tablet or Cyberpad will overwrite what you have!3. You'll want to turn the pad sideways while in Pen/Mouse mode4. See #2!!
